The use of RPC in the ARGO-YBJ project

Nuclear Physics B - Proceedings Supplements, 1999
We present the ARGO-YBJ experiment, a full coverage detector placed at high altitude (∼4300 m a.s.l.) that exploits the RPC technique. Results of a test experiment performed at Yanbajing site, with a full coverage RPC carpet of 50 m2 are also presented.

Automating type-safe RPC

Proceedings RIDE-DOM'95. Fifth International Workshop on Research Issues in Data Engineering-Distributed Object Management, 2002
Describes how a persistent programming language can be used to implement a remote procedure call (RPC) mechanism that automatically supports type-safety. It is type-safe since the expected interface is checked against the actual remote procedure interface before a call is attempted, and it is automatic because the user intervention is that already ...

NoWait-RPC: extending ONC RPC to a fully compatible message passing system

Proceedings of the First Merged International Parallel Processing Symposium and Symposium on Parallel and Distributed Processing, 2002
Locally and functionally distributed applications realized on different system architectures demand a universal, portable and intuitive software utility for interprocess communication. Remote Procedure Calling (RPC) fulfills these requirements but suffers unnecessarily strict synchronization and the danger of deadlocks with complex client/server ...

PEPt – A Minimal RPC Architecture

2003
We present a high-level RPC architecture. Although RPC systems seem quite varied they actually share the same fundamental building blocks. We examine the operation of several technologies (e.g., SOAP/HTTP, RMI-IIOP) to show what they have in common, namely four main blocks that we call PEPt: Presentation, Encoding, Protocol and transport.

RPC structures in Croatia

2003
Ultra high performance, fiber-reinforced concrete is one of the main subjects of research work in the field of civil engineering. In Croatia, preliminary investigations for selecting the right ingredients to produce reactive powder concrete (RPC) were done.
