Diagnosis of bacteraemia in neonatal foals using 16S rRNA high‐throughput sequencing
Abstract Background Sepsis is an important cause of morbidity and mortality in foals. Early diagnosis can improve outcome but is complicated by non‐specific clinical signs and delayed confirmation of infection via blood culture. Molecular assays represent a rapid and more sensitive alternative.

Tumor‐related pathogenic bacteria can affect the treatment efficiency of tumors. Therefore, we have designed a nanoparticle that can accurately target tumor cells and related pathogenic bacteria, reverse the immunosuppressive effect of pathogenic bacteria on tumors, and synergistically enhance tumor treatment efficiency through sonodynamic therapy ...

Modelling Yeast Pre-rRNA Processing
2007In this paper we present a quantified model concerning the synthesis of pre-rRNAs. The chemical kinetics simulation software Dizzy has been chosen as both the modelling and simulation framework of our study. We discuss the validation of the model against the available experimental data and we show some preliminary results obtained from the study of our

The nucleolus is the ribosome biogenesis center. The nucleolar structure is disrupted upon entry into mitosis and is formed in early G1 phase. To understand the molecular mechanisms of nucleolar assembly and disassembly, we have studied the mechanism of association between factors involved in pre-ribosome RNA (rRNA) processing and rRNA gene chromatin ...

Gene heterogeneity: a basis for alternative 5.8S rRNA processing
Biochemistry, 1984Two bands of 5.8S rRNA were observed when the total RNA isolated from rat or mouse tissue was separated by electrophoresis on high-resolution polyacrylamide gels under denaturing conditions. The minor form, with a lower mobility, represented 15-35% of the total 5.8S rRNA, depending on the source of the tissue.
