CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Canine distemper virus detection by different methods of One-Step RT-qPCR

open access: yesCiência Rural, 2016
: Three commercial kits of One-Step RT-qPCR were evaluated for the molecular diagnosis of Canine Distemper Virus. Using the kit that showed better performance, two systems of Real-time RT-PCR (RT-qPCR) assays were tested and compared for analytical ...

Linear-hairpin variable primer RT-qPCR for MicroRNA

open access: yesChemical Science, 2019
Here, we present a highly specific, sensitive and cost-effective system to quantify microRNA (miRNA) expression based on two-step RT-qPCR with EvaGreen detection chemistry, called linear-hairpin variable primer RT-qPCR.

Improving the standardization of mRNA measurement by RT-qPCR [PDF]

open access: yesBiomolecular Detection and Quantification, 2018
Human health and safety depend on reliable measurements in medical diagnosis and on tests that support the selection and evaluation of therapeutic intervention and newly discovered molecular biomarkers must pass a rigorous evaluation process if they are to be of benefit to patients.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Heterogeneous expression of EPCAM in human circulating tumour cells from patient-derived xenografts

open access: yesBiomarker Research, 2018
Background We aim to characterize the heterogeneous circulating tumour cells (CTCs) in peripheral blood, independently of physical or immunological purification, by using patient-derived xenografts (PDXs) models.

Evaluation of eleven reference genes for Reverse Transcriptase Quantitative PCR of rubber tree under water deficit [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Reverse Transcriptase Quantitative PCR (RTqPCR) is a powerful technique in order to detect low abundance of mRNA in the plant cell. The measurement of transcript abundance is relative to the control of expression such as housekeeping genes.

Impact of antibiotics on the proliferation and differentiation of human adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Adipose tissue is a promising source of mesenchymal stem cells. Their potential to differentiate and regenerate other types of tissues may be affected by several factors. This may be due to in vitro cell-culture conditions, especially the supplementation
