Utilization of ursolic acid methyl ester in the treatment of Streptococcus pyogenes in Nile tilapia, concerning physiological, genetic, immune-oxidative, stress, and neuro-ethological parameters

open access: yesAquaculture Reports
The present work is an innovative approach for application the Streptomyces misakiensis S. misakiensis metabolite called ursolic acid methyl ester (UAME) in treating Streptococcus pyogenes of Nile tilapia.

Bacteria‐Responsive Nanostructured Drug Delivery Systems for Targeted Antimicrobial Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bacteria‐responsive nanocarriers are designed to release antimicrobials only in the presence of infection‐specific cues. This selective activation ensures drug release precisely at the site of infection, avoiding premature or indiscriminate release, and enhancing efficacy.

High Humidity Exacerbates Psoriasiform Skin Disease Relapse by Increasing Tissue‐Resident Memory T Cells via Altering Skin Microbiota

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We demonstrated that high humidity worsened psoriasis relapse in murine psoriasiform skin inflammation by increasing skin‐resident memory CD8+ cells via upregulating IL‐15Rα on keratinocytes. The increases in IL‐15Rα and memory CD8+ cells were attributed to S. nepalensis and its metabolite ADMA in skin exposed to high humidity.

StreptInCor: a candidate vaccine epitope against S. pyogenes infections induces protection in outbred mice. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Infection with Streptococcus pyogenes (S. pyogenes) can result in several diseases, particularly in children. S. pyogenes M protein is the major virulence factor, and certain regions of its N-terminus can trigger autoimmune sequelae such as rheumatic ...

Decoding Undesirable Inflammatory Responses of Nucleic Acid‐Delivering Lipid Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) enable efficient nucleic acid delivery, but their immunogenicity is a double‐edged sword. This review explores LNP‐driven innate and adaptive immunity, covering lipid components, endosomal escape, and nucleic acid sensing.

Synergistic HMGN1 and VP64 Fusions Potentiate High‐Precision and PAM‐Flexible Base Editing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel CDA1Δ‐SpRY architecture fused with HMGN1 and VP64 yields a nearly PAM‐less base editing platform. By focusing cytosine conversion predominantly at position −18, this synergistic complex ensures highly precise targeting. Demonstrating enhanced efficiency across diverse models, including yeast and rice, the platform offers a robust solution for ...

Inactivation of the Rgg2 transcriptional regulator ablates the virulence of Streptococcus pyogenes. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
Streptococcus pyogenes adapts to different niches encountered in the human host via the activity of numerous regulatory proteins including the Rgg family of transcriptional regulators. The S.
