Extracranial Detection of S100B.

open access: yes, 2013
Extracranial sources of S100B revealed on Western blots do not affect the clinical detection of S100B using the Sangtec-Diasorin immunoassay. (A) The results of two clinically relevant Sangtec Diasorin immunoassay systems; the fully automated Liaison (x ...

Comparison of sample materials for S100b analysis

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Clinical and Laboratory Investigation
Head injury is a potentially lethal and frequently occurring condition in the emergency department (ED). Reliable and fast diagnosis is important both for patients and flow in the ED. Circulating S100B is used to rule out the need for head computer tomography in low-risk patients with mild head injury.

Both Genetic Manipulation and Acupuncture Alleviate Depressive‐Like Behavior Mediated by Astrocytic P2X7 Receptors

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 10, October 2026.
The efficacy of the chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) model in mice was assessed using the tail suspension test (TST; A) and the forced swim test (FST; B). In both major depressive disorder (MDD) mouse models, CUMS significantly increased immobility time, indicating the development of depressive‐like behavior.

Protracted Fate Acquisition and Epigenetic De‐Aging During Induced Neural Stem Cell Conversion of Human Blood Cells

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 10, October 2026.
In contrast to rapid epigenetic de‐aging during induced pluripotent stem cell generation, direct conversion of blood cells into neural stem cells is associated with largely protracted epigenetic de‐aging. The process coincides with prolonged cell fate consolidation, does not require sustained proliferation, and might provide experimental access to ...
