Quantum dynamics of gas-phase S(N)2 reactions
Understanding the state-resolved dynamics of elementary chemical reactions involving polyatomic molecules, such as the well-known reaction mechanism of nucleophilic bimolecular substitution (S(N)2), is one of the principal goals in chemistry.

Efficacy and safety of the RTS,S/AS01 malaria vaccine during 18 months after vaccination : a phase 3 randomized, controlled trial in children and young infants at 11 African sites [PDF]
A malaria vaccine could be an important addition to current control strategies. We report the safety and vaccine efficacy (VE) of the RTS,S/AS01 vaccine during 18 mo following vaccination at 11 African sites with varying malaria transmission.; 6,537 ...

Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

All-optical phase regeneration of 40Gbit/s DPSK signals in a black-box phase sensitive amplifier
We present a black-box four wave mixing based bit-rate-flexible phase sensitive amplifier and use it in the first demonstration of 40 Gbit/s DPSK phase ...

Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Phase behavior of system carbon dioxide + hydrogen sulfide
The global phase equilibrium behavior of the CO 2 +H 2 S system is discussed in this work for temperatures ranging from 160 K up to the critical region. Solid phases of CO 2 and H 2 S and corresponding equilibria have been modeled by considering either a

Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Ensa controls S-phase length by modulating Treslin levels
The Greatwall/Ensa/PP2A-B55 pathway controls mitotic substrate phosphorylation and mitotic entry. Here the authors show that cells regulate S phase duration by controlling the ubiquitin-proteasome degradation of Treslin in a Gwl/Ensa-dependent pathway.
