The occurrence of Listeria spp. and Salmonella spp. in surface waters
Microbiological Research, 1997Listeria ssp., mainly Listeria monocytogenes as well as Salmonella spp. are recognized as significant human pathogens. The purpose of this study was to examine the occurrence of Listeria spp. and Salmonella spp. in surface waters of Northern Greece and to investigate the correlation of these pathogens with the standard indicator bacteria.

Modeling the survival of Salmonella spp. in chorizos
International Journal of Food Microbiology, 2006The survival of Salmonella spp. in chorizos has been studied under the effect of storage conditions; namely temperature (T=6, 25, 30 degrees C), air inflow velocity (F=0, 28.4 m/min), and initial water activity (a(w0)=0.85, 0.90, 0.93, 0.95, 0.97). The pH was held at 5.0.

Automated detection of Salmonella spp. in foods
Journal of Microbiological Methods, 1999An automated method to detect salmonellae in foods was developed and tested in food samples intentionally contaminated with the test organisms. Liquid eggs, shell eggs, dry eggs, skim milk and chicken were spiked with Salmonella enteritidis, S. typhimurium or S. newport to yield 2 to 25 CFU per 25 g or ml of sample.

Incidence of Listeria spp. and Salmonella spp. in horsemeat for human consumption
International Journal of Food Microbiology, 2000The incidence of Salmonella spp., Listeria spp. and Listeria monocytogenes in horsemeat for human consumption was investigated. One-hundred and twenty-one samples of frozen horsemeat collected from two Brazilian abattoirs were analysed over a period of 1 year. Twenty-two samples (18.2%) were positive for Listeria spp.
