A Salt Metathesis Route To Ruthenium Carbene Complex Isomers With Pyridine Dicarboxamide-Derived Chelate Pincer Ligands

open access: yes, 2007
Reaction of the doubly deprotonated pyridine 2,6-dicarboxamido ligand (1) with (PCy3)2Cl2 Ru=CHPh (3a) in THF gave a mixture of (lig)(PCy3)Ru=CHPh isomers (4).

Half‐Sandwich Nickel(II) NHC‐Picolyl Complexes as Catalysts for the Hydrosilylation of Carbonyl Compounds: Evidence for NHC‐Nickel Nanoparticles under Harsh Reaction Conditions

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, 2021
The cationic [NiCp(Mes-NHC-CH2py]Br complex 2 a was prepared directly by the reaction of nickelocene with 1-(2-picolyl)-3-mesityl-imidazolium bromide (1), and its PF6− derivative 2 b, by subsequent salt metathesis.

Exploring Indium Teflates: From Neutral In(OTeF5)3(THF)3 to Anionic Complexes [In(OTeF5)4(THF)2]– and [In(OTeF5)6]3–

open access: yesChemistryEurope
This study explores the synthesis and characterization of novel indium‐based pentafluoroorthotellurate (teflate) derivatives. It introduces a series of indium(III) teflate mono‐ and trianions, including [In(OTeF5)4(THF)2]– and [In(OTeF5)6]3–.

Pressure as the driving force for mechanochemical reactions on the example of ion metathesis of alkali halides upon ball milling

open access: yesRSC Mechanochemistry
In situ XRD data of an ion metathesis reaction provide detailed insights into the processes occurring under ball-milling conditions. Pressure pulses exerted by the impact of milling balls drive the progress of the reaction.

Post-Polymerization Modification of Ring Opening Metathesis Polymerization (ROMP)-Derived Materials Using Wittig Reactions

open access: yesPolymers, 2020
This communication describes our recent efforts to utilize Wittig olefination reactions for the post-polymerization modification of polynorbornene derivatives prepared through ring opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP).

Ni stabilized rock-salt structured CoO; Co1−xNixO: tuning of eg electrons to develop a novel OER catalyst

open access: yesRSC Advances, 2020
The oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is a key half-reaction in hydrogen–oxygen electrolysers that is very important for efficient electrochemical energy generation, storage and fuel production that offers a clean alternative to fissile fuel combustion ...

The Parent GaH2SbH2 Monomer Stabilized by an N‐Heterocyclic Carbene

open access: yesChemistryEurope
The synthesis and characterization of the stibanyltrielanes IDipp·GaH2Sb(SiMe3)2 (1a) and IDipp·BH2Sb(SiMe3)2 (1b) are presented. 1a represents the first example for the isolation of a molecular stibanylgallane monomer stabilized only by a Lewis base (LB)

New Route to Ordered Double Perovskites: Synthesis of Rock Salt Oxides, Li4MWO6, and Their Transformation to Sr2MWO6 (M = Mg, Mn, Fe, Ni) via Metathesis

open access: yes, 2005
We describe a solid-state metathesis route for the synthesis of double perovskite oxides, $Sr_2MWO_6$ $(M= Mg, Mn, Fe, Ni)$, that enabled us to obtain cation-ordered phases at a considerably lower temperature $(\sim750^oC)$ than what is employed in ...

Trispyrazolyl Borate Iron Thiolate Complexes and the Dependence of their O2‐Reactivity on the Reaction Space

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry
The work presented here investigates whether the TpMesFe+ moiety, which had been previously found to mediate the dioxygenation of cysteine and cysteamine, can do the same with simple thiols, which are not functionalized by an amine group.
