Sampled Data Systems

2020
In Chap. 2 we dealt with discrete systems only, covering difference equations and the z transform. Chapter 3 we did examine finding discrete simulations of continuous systems, but we did so from a discrete perspective. In digital control systems where there are both discrete (the control algorithm) and continuous components (the plant), with a loop ...

Nonlinear H∞ filtering of sampled-data systems

Automatica, 1999
Abstract This paper considers the problem of H∞ filtering for nonlinear samplcd-data systems. Sufficient conditions are obtained for the existence of filters that guarantee the L2 gain from an exogenous input to an estimation error is less than or equal to a prescribed value.

Sampled data systems

1997
Having studied the separate components of a data acquisition system, we now consider the errors which are inherent in all sampled data systems. These are sampling and quantization errors. They can be reduced, but not eliminated. Examples of the design of complete systems are considered in which these errors are reduced to a level which is tolerable for

A calculus for hybrid sampled data systems

1994
This paper addresses the problem of formally describing hybrid sampled data systems. Using the techniques proposed in Duration Calculus, we first develop a formal calculus, called Accumulation Calculus, for specifying real valued step functions of time. The key idea is that such functions are described using their integrals in bounded closed intervals.

QUADRATIC STABILIZATION OF SAMPLED-DATA SYSTEMS WITH QUANTIZATION

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2002
The influence of sampling and quantization on stability for linear time-invariant systems is investigated. In the first part, a bound for the sampling period for the closed-loop system without quantization is derived. By solving a Riccati equation, an optimal gain is calculated.

Control of asynchronous sampled data systems

IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1994
This paper is concerned with the problem of controller design in the case of asynchronous sampled data systems. Optimal LQG controllers are obtained for the class of two-rate systems where all the control inputs are held at a rate which is asynchronously related to the rate with which all of the outputs are sampled.

Some Remarks on the Controllability of Sampled-Data Systems

SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, 2012
This paper raises the question of controllability (or more precisely, reachability) of sampled-data systems, i.e., systems composed of a continuous-time plant controlled by a digital controller. The question is formulated from the continuous-time perspective, and the study is carried out in a functional analytic framework. The novelty of the study lies

Analysis of Sampled-Data Systems

2018
In sampled-data systems the signals are handled and stored in digital form. In these systems continuous time signals are sampled periodically at sampling instants and their processing takes place in the discrete time domain. In computer control systems the output of the continuous process is sampled and this signal is forwarded to the process control ...

Nonlinear Sampled-Data Systems

2014
Sampled-data systems are control systems in which the feedback law is digitally implemented via a computer. They are prevalent nowadays due to the numerous advantages they offer compared to analog control. Nonlinear sampled-data systems arise in this context when either the plant model or the controller is nonlinear.
