Synthesis, Characterization, and Biological Evaluation of Red Light‐Activatable BODIPY‐Caged Ceritinib Compounds

open access: yesHelvetica Chimica Acta, Volume 108, Issue 6, June 2025.
Abstract In this work, we aimed at photocaging the well‐known anticancer agents dasatinib, ceritinib, gemcitabine, and combretastatin A4 with red‐light activatable 4,4‐difluoro‐4‐bora‐3a,4a‐diaza‐s‐indacene (BODIPY)‐based cages using a carbonate/carbamate linking strategy.

Yellowness of Selected Legume Flours as Function of Nutritional Composition, Mineral Content and Total Free Phenolic Content

open access: yesLegume Science, Volume 7, Issue 2, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Legume flours from sacha inchi (Plukenetia volubilis), pea (Pisum sativum), faba bean (Vicia faba), chickpea (Cicer arietinum) and lentil (Lens culinaris) were analysed in a comprehensive study to identify potential sources for the development of yellow colour, which could limit their use in fortified food.

N‐ to C‐Peptide Synthesis, Arguably the Future for Sustainable Production

open access: yesJournal of Peptide Science, Volume 31, Issue 6, June 2025.
The advent of epimerization‐free methods for coupling in N‐ to C‐direction synthesis offers improved atom economy for sustainable peptide synthesis. ABSTRACT A revolution in peptide production arrived from the innovation of carboxylate to amine C‐ to N‐direction solid‐phase synthesis.

Abdominal fat necrosis in three Vietnamese Potbellied pigs

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 2, June 2025.
Abstract Three cases of abdominal fat necrosis in Vietnamese Potbellied pigs are described in this report. Two pigs were presented for nonspecific clinical signs of varying durations, including lethargy and hyporexia, and one pig was presented for euthanasia due to severe, progressive lameness in which abdominal fat necrosis was found incidentally.

Chicken Manure as a Sustainable Bile Acid Source for Biotechnological Applications

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology, Volume 18, Issue 6, June 2025.
This study highlights that chicken manure represents an abundant but untapped resource for bile acids, which are in high demand for pharmaceutical and biotechnological applications. We further show that the predominant bile acid, chenodeoxycholic acid, can be used directly from ethanolic manure extracts to produce pharmaceutically relevant ...
