SARM regulates cell apoptosis and inflammation during Toxoplasma gondii infection through a multistep mechanism [PDF]

open access: yesParasites and Vectors
Background The sterile alpha and HEAT/Armadillo motif (SARM) is the fifth Toll-like receptor (TLR) adaptor protein containing the Toll/interleukin-1 receptor (TIR) domain, which is highly enriched in the brain. Toxoplasma gondii (T.

The Subcortical Atlas of the Rhesus Macaque (SARM) for neuroimaging

open access: yesNeuroImage, 2021
Digitized neuroanatomical atlases that can be overlaid onto functional data are crucial for localizing brain structures and analyzing functional networks identified by neuroimaging techniques. To aid in functional and structural data analysis, we have created a comprehensive parcellation of the rhesus macaque subcortex using a high-resolution ex vivo ...

UXT plays dual opposing roles on SARM‐induced apoptosis [PDF]

open access: yesFEBS Letters, 2013
Apoptosis is a vital defense mechanism for the clearance of infected cells. Ubiquitously expressed transcript (UXT), which exists in two isoforms (V1 and V2), interact with both apoptotic and cellular proteins. By yeast two‐hybrid analysis, we found that UXT interacts with SARM (sterile α and HEAT armadillo motif‐containing protein).

SARM: Simulation of Absorption Refrigeration Machine

open access: yesJournal of Renewable Energies, 2008
The purpose of this work is: - the design of a simulation program for a refrigeration system absorption (single and double stage), working with the binary couple NH3-H2O, called SARM 'Simulation of Absorption Refrigeration Machine', - the creation of a database containing the physical and thermodynamic properties for ammonia, water and their mixtures ...

Necroptosis is SARMful to your health [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Cell Biology, 2020
Necroptosis is a cell death pathway involved in inflammation and disease. In this issue, Ko et al. (2020. J. Cell Biol.https://doi.org/10.1083/jcb.201912047) link SARM1, the executioner of Wallerian degeneration of axons, to necroptosis, revealing a unique form of axonal disassembly likely involved in neurodegenerative disorders.

Development of selective androgen receptor modulators (SARMs) [PDF]

open access: yesMolecular and Cellular Endocrinology, 2018
The Androgen Receptor (AR), a member of the steroid hormone receptor family, plays important roles in the physiology and pathology of diverse tissues. AR ligands, which include circulating testosterone and locally synthesized dihydrotestosterone, bind to and activate the AR to elicit their effects.

SARM: From immune regulator to cell executioner

open access: yesBiochemical Pharmacology, 2019
SARM is the fifth and most conserved member of the Toll/Il-1 Receptor (TIR) adaptor family. However, unlike the other TIR adaptors, MyD88, Mal, TRIF and TRAM, SARM does not participate in transducing signals downstream of TLRs. By contrast SARM inhibits TLR signalling by interacting with the adaptors TRIF and MyD88.

SARMED

open access: yes, 2020
This teaching case is part of a case series that deals with the introduction of a digital multi-sided platform (MSP) – a digital space that aims at increasing collaboration, data sharing, and visibility among the actors involved in different transport and logistics environments.

INFECTION A SARM ET NOx

open access: yes, 2014
