The Subcortical Atlas of the Rhesus Macaque (SARM) for neuroimaging

open access: yesNeuroImage, 2021
Digitized neuroanatomical atlases that can be overlaid onto functional data are crucial for localizing brain structures and analyzing functional networks identified by neuroimaging techniques.

SARM suppresses TRIF, TRAF3, and IRF3/7 mediated antiviral signaling in large yellow croaker Larimichthys crocea

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2023
As a TIR domain-containing molecular, sterile α-and armadillo motif-containing protein (SARM) acts as an adaptor in Toll-like receptor (TLR) signaling, and also plays important roles in mediating apoptosis and neuronal injury.

SARM regulates cell apoptosis and inflammation during Toxoplasma gondii infection through a multistep mechanism [PDF]

open access: yesParasites & Vectors
Background The sterile alpha and HEAT/Armadillo motif (SARM) is the fifth Toll-like receptor (TLR) adaptor protein containing the Toll/interleukin-1 receptor (TIR) domain, which is highly enriched in the brain. Toxoplasma gondii (T.

Toll-1-dependent immune evasion induced by fungal infection leads to cell loss in the Drosophila brain. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS Biology
Fungi can intervene in hosts' brain function. In humans, they can drive neuroinflammation, neurodegenerative diseases and psychiatric disorders. However, how fungi alter the host brain is unknown. The mechanism underlying innate immunity to fungi is well-

SARM: From immune regulator to cell executioner

open access: yesBiochemical Pharmacology, 2019
SARM is the fifth and most conserved member of the Toll/Il-1 Receptor (TIR) adaptor family. However, unlike the other TIR adaptors, MyD88, Mal, TRIF and TRAM, SARM does not participate in transducing signals downstream of TLRs. By contrast SARM inhibits TLR signalling by interacting with the adaptors TRIF and MyD88.

UXT plays dual opposing roles on SARM‐induced apoptosis [PDF]

open access: yesFEBS Letters, 2013
Apoptosis is a vital defense mechanism for the clearance of infected cells. Ubiquitously expressed transcript (UXT), which exists in two isoforms (V1 and V2), interact with both apoptotic and cellular proteins. By yeast two‐hybrid analysis, we found that UXT interacts with SARM (sterile α and HEAT armadillo motif‐containing protein).

SARM: Simulation of Absorption Refrigeration Machine

open access: yesRevue des Énergies Renouvelables, 2008
The purpose of this work is: - the design of a simulation program for a refrigeration system absorption (single and double stage), working with the binary couple NH3-H2O, called SARM 'Simulation of Absorption Refrigeration Machine', - the creation of a ...

The Effect of the Isolator Design on the Efficiency of Rotary Piston Compressors

open access: yesThermo, 2023
The current work investigates the relationship between the shape of an isolator of a concentric rotary piston compressor and the secondary peak pressure developed during each operating cycle. This peak pressure is developed when the piston passes through

Amelioration of sexual behavior and motor activity deficits in a castrated rodent model with a selective androgen receptor modulator SARM-2f. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2017
Sarcopenia and cachexia present characteristic features of a decrease in skeletal muscle mass and strength, anorexia, and lack of motivation. Treatments for these diseases have not yet been established, although selective androgen receptor modulators ...
