Alternative Linear Chiral Models for Nuclear Matter [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
The equation of state of a family of alternative linear chiral models in the mean field approximation is discussed. We investigate the analogy between some of these models with current models in the literature, and we show that it is possible to ...

Clustering Algorithm Reveals Dopamine‐Motor Mismatch in Cognitively Preserved Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To explore the relationship between dopaminergic denervation and motor impairment in two de novo Parkinson's disease (PD) cohorts. Methods n = 249 PD patients from Parkinson's Progression Markers Initiative (PPMI) and n = 84 from an external clinical cohort.

New Method for Determination of Drain Saturation Voltage in Short Channel MOS Devices Between Liquid Helium to Room Temperature

open access: yesActive and Passive Electronic Components, 2001
A new method for drain saturation voltage extraction in submicron MOSFETs is presented. It is based on measurements of the partial derivative of the impact ionization rate.

Normal‐Appearing White Matter Injury Mediates Chronic Deep Venous Hypoxia and Disease Progression in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To explore how cerebral hypoxia and Normal‐Appearing White Matter (NAWM) integrity affect MS lesion burden and clinical course. Methods Seventy‐nine MS patients, including 13 clinically isolated syndrome (CIS) patients and 66 relapsing–remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) patients, and 44 healthy controls (HCs) were recruited from ...

Electronic system for high power load control [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
Parallel current paths are divided into two groups, with control devices in the current paths of one group each having a current limiting resistor, and the control devices in the other group each having no limiting resistor, so that when the control ...

Current Saturation in Nonmetallic Field Emitters

open access: yes, 2017
It has been known for a long time that traditional semiconductor (e.g. intrinsic and doped Si and Ge or binary SiC and GaN) field emitters significantly deviate from Fowler-Nordheim (FN) law and saturate when a large current, on the order of microamperes or more, is attempted to be drawn from them.

A Systematic Comparison of Alpha‐Synuclein Seed Amplification Assays for Increasing Reproducibility

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Seed amplification assays (SAAs) enable ultrasensitive detection of misfolded α‐synuclein across biofluids and tissues. Yet, heterogeneity in protocols limits cross‐study comparability and clinical translation. Here, we review α‐synuclein SAA methods and their performance across various biological matrices.

Strong magnetic field effect on above-barrier transport in Pb-p-HgCdTe Schottky barriers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Due to large difference in effective masses of light and heavy holes it is usually supposed that the above-barrier current in Schottky barriers on p-type semiconductor is controlled only by the heavy holes.

Diffusion‐Weighted Imaging for the Evaluation of the Sacroiliac Joint in Pediatric Patients

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Maturational signal in the sacroiliac joint (SIJ) of skeletally immature youth is often misinterpreted as inflammation. Diagnostic tools that improve specificity are greatly needed. Apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values from diffusion‐weighted imaging (DWI), when used with standard imaging, may enhance diagnostic accuracy.

Magnetic Properties of Fe/Cu Multilayers Prepared Using Pulsed-Current Electrodeposition [PDF]

open access: yesЖурнал нано- та електронної фізики, 2012
[Fe (tFe) nm/Cu (tCu) nm]N multilayer films were prepared using pulsed-current electrodeposition method. The role of the pulsed-current deposition and Fe and Cu layer thicknesses on the magnetic properties was investigated.
