Resonance near Border-Collision Bifurcations in Piecewise-Smooth, Continuous Maps

open access: yes, 2010
Mode-locking regions (resonance tongues) formed by border-collision bifurcations of piecewise-smooth, continuous maps commonly exhibit a distinctive sausage-like geometry with pinch points called "shrinking points".

Occupational Contact Urticaria, Protein Contact Dermatitis and Concomitant Airway Diseases in the Finnish Register of Occupational Diseases in 2005–2020: Main Causes and Occupations at Risk

open access: yesContact Dermatitis, EarlyView.
This Finnish registry study shows that concomitant occupational asthma and rhinitis are common in patients with occupational contact urticaria or protein contact dermatitis, often sharing the same exposure. When evaluating occupational immediate allergy, both skin and airway symptoms should be considered.

Asymptotics for the Wiener sausage among Poissonian obstacles

open access: yes, 2008
We consider the Wiener sausage among Poissonian obstacles. The obstacle is called hard if Brownian motion entering the obstacle is immediately killed, and is called soft if it is killed at certain rate.

From plant to fabric: Environmental opportunities associated with annatto dye for sustainable development in the textile industry

open access: yesColoration Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract Natural dyes are compounds that occur naturally in several organisms and are classified based on chemical structure and application method. The literature cites several natural dyes used in industrial transformation processes. Annatto dye is used in the food industry, and its biological pigment is extracted from the annatto seed. However, this

Sensitivity of Coronal Loop Sausage Mode Frequencies and Decay Rates to Radial and Longitudinal Density Inhomogeneities: A Spectral Approach

open access: yes, 2017
Fast sausage modes in solar magnetic coronal loops are only fully contained in unrealistically short dense loops. Otherwise they are leaky, losing energy to their surrounds as outgoing waves.
