Targeting the MDM2‐MDM4 interaction interface reveals an otherwise therapeutically active wild‐type p53 in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigates an alternative approach to reactivating the oncosuppressor p53 in cancer. A short peptide targeting the association of the two p53 inhibitors, MDM2 and MDM4, induces an otherwise therapeutically active p53 with unique features that promote cell death and potentially reduce toxicity towards proliferating nontumor cells.

Collapsing spherical star in Scalar-Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity with a quadratic coupling

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2018
We study the evolution of a self interacting scalar field in Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet theory in four dimension where the scalar field couples non minimally with the Gauss-Bonnet term.

Scalar Field (Wave) Dark Matter

open access: yes, 2016
Recent high-quality observations of dwarf and low surface brightness (LSB) galaxies have shown that their dark matter (DM) halos prefer flat central density profiles.

Arbitrary scalar-field and quintessence cosmological models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The mechanism of the initial inflationary scenario of the Universe and of its late-time acceleration can be described by assuming the existence of some gravitationally coupled scalar fields $$\phi $$ϕ, with the inflaton field generating inflation and the

Exploration of heterogeneity and recurrence signatures in hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study leveraged public datasets and integrative bioinformatic analysis to dissect malignant cell heterogeneity between relapsed and primary HCC, focusing on intercellular communication, differentiation status, metabolic activity, and transcriptomic profiles.

Turbulent Mixing in Transverse Jets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Turbulent mixing is studied in liquid-phase transverse jets. Jet-fluid concentration fields were measured using laser-induced fluorescence and digital-imaging techniques, for jets in the Reynolds number range 1000

Scalar Field Dark Matter: behavior around black holes

open access: yes, 2011
We present the numerical evolution of a massive test scalar fields around a Schwarzschild space-time. We proceed by using hyperboloidal slices that approach future null infinity, which is the boundary of scalar fields, and also demand the slices to ...

Fate of Z2 symmetric scalar field [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A bstractThe evolution of a coherently oscillating scalar field with Z2 symmetry is studied in detail. We calculate the dissipation rate of the scalar field based on the closed time path formalism. Consequently, it is shown that the energy density of the

The atypical KRASQ22K mutation directs TGF‐β response towards partial epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in patient‐derived colorectal cancer tumoroids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
TGF‐β has a complex role in cancer, exhibiting both tumor‐suppressive and tumor‐promoting properties. Using a series of differentiated tumoroids, derived from different stages and mutational background of colorectal cancer patients, we replicate this duality of TGF‐β in vitro. Notably, the atypical but highly aggressive KRASQ22K mutation rendered early‐

Cosmological evolution of two-scalar fields cosmology in the Jordan frame

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2020
In the present article we study the cosmological evolution of a two-scalar field gravitational theory defined in the Jordan frame. Specifically, we assume one of the scalar fields to be minimally coupled to gravity, while the second field which is the ...
