Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Hypothesis tests on the scale parameter using median ranked set sampling

open access: yesStatistica, 2008
In this paper, some test procedures for scale parameters of exponential and rectangular distributions involving the median ranked set sampling (MRSS) method are discussed. The necessary tables for the critical regions for the suggested tests are supplied.

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Sequential Point Estimation of a Function of the Exponential Scale Parameter

open access: yesAustrian Journal of Statistics, 2016
We consider sequential point estimation of a function of the scale parameter of an exponential distribution subject to the loss function given as a sum of the squared error and a linear cost.

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Sequential point and interval estimation of scale parameter of exponential distribution

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1995
Sequential fixed-width confidence intervals are obtained for the scale parameter σ when the location parameter θ of the negative exponential distribution is unknown.

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Biomechanical parameter assessment for classification of Parkinson’s disease on clinical scale

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2017
The primary goal of this study was to investigate computerized assessment methods to classify motor dysfunctioning of patients with Parkinson’s disease on the clinical scale. In this proposed system, machine learning–based computerized assessment methods

Scale-Dependent Optimized Homoepitaxy of InAs(111)A

open access: yes, 2022
We combined in situ scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) with the conventional growth characterization methods of atomic force microscopy (AFM) and reflection high-energy electron diffraction (RHEED) to simultaneously assess atomic scale impurities and ...
