NLSS3 Impairs SHM1 Autophagic Degradation to Regulate Leaf Morphology and Salt Tolerance in Rice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In rice, NLSS3 binds and shields SHM1 from autophagic degradation to maintain serine homeostasis. The A132P mutation in nlss3 disrupts this, triggering SHM1 loss, metabolic dysfunction, K+ imbalance, and impaired ROS scavenging, which collectively drive narrow leaves and salt sensitivity.

Scavenger Receptor class F member 2 is an intracellular receptor for Hepatitis B virus

open access: yes
Summary Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infects hepatocytes by specific binding to the cell-surface receptor —sodium taurocholate cotransporting polypeptide (NTCP)—through the preS1 region of its large envelop protein, followed by a less well understood transport process across the cytoplasm to the nucleus.

Hepatitis C virus entry receptor dynamics and studies of platelet actin dynamics using lifeact-gfp: a potential role for actin nodules in filopodia formation

open access: yes, 2011
Virus entry into target cells is mediated by the attachment of viral glycoproteins to cell surface receptors. Entry of the hepatitis C virus (HCV) into hepatocytes has been shown to require viral glycoprotein dimer E1E2 and the target cell receptor CD81,

Mastication‐Induced Electrical Stimulation Activates Prg4+ Chondroprogenitors for Osteoarthritis Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a ″trash‐to‐treasure″ strategy that converts harmful joint overloads into beneficial electrical cues. The biodegradable MagPie, by providing piezoelectrical stimulation and releasing Mg2+ during mastication, exerts synergistic pro‐regenerative and anti‐inflammatory effects on Prg4+ cells via the ECM‐mediated FAK‐PI3K‐Akt axis ...

Histone Modification Complex JMJ704‐HDA709 Negatively Regulates Salinity Tolerance in Rice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the rice histone demethylase JMJ704 interacts with HDA709―a H3K9ac deacetylase characterized herein―to form a chromatin‐modifying complex. Under salt stress, OsWRKY72 recruits this complex through interaction with JMJ704 to target loci, repressing the expression of oxidative stress and salt‐responsive genes via removal of ...

Extracellular dsRNA induces a type I interferon response mediated via class A scavenger receptors in a novel Chinook salmon derived spleen cell line

open access: yes, 2018
Despite increased global interest in Chinook salmon aquaculture, little is known of their viral immune defenses. This study describes the establishment and characterization of a continuous cell line derived from Chinook salmon spleen, CHSS, and its use ...
