Production Scheduling of Multi-Stage, Multi-product Food Process Industries
The production scheduling of a real-life multi-product, mixed batch and continuous food industrial facility is considered in this work. More specifically, the scheduling of canned fish production in a large-scale Spanish industry is studied in detail. The deployment of an efficient solution strategy is proposed to handle the computationally challenging

Functional variation among LPMOs revealed by the inhibitory effects of cyanide and buffer ions
This study addresses the inhibition of lytic polysaccharide monooxygenases (LPMOs) by cyanide and explains how and why the magnitude of observed inhibitory effects depends on the way LPMO reactions are setup and on the type of LPMO. Enzymes known as lytic polysaccharide monooxygenases (LPMOs) are mono‐copper polysaccharide‐degrading peroxygenases that ...

We present the first solution structure of the Ca2+‐depleted LETM1 F‐EF‐hand through a D676A/N678A Ca2+ binding‐deficient mutant, revealing a closed hydrophobic cleft caused by a unique F1‐helix pivot. The apo LETM1 F‐EF‐hand exhibits regiospecific hot and cold unfolding, sensitivity to physiological pH changes and potential for promiscuous heterotypic

Efficient scheduling using complex networks [PDF]
We consider the problem of efficiently scheduling the production of goods for a model steel manufacturing company. We propose a new approach for solving this classic problem, using techniques from the statistical physics of complex networks in conjunction with depth-first search to generate a successful, flexible, schedule.

Immunoregulatory mechanisms of the arachidonic acid pathway in cancer
The central role of the arachidonic acid (AA) pathway in anticancer immunity. Enzymes and metabolites of the AA pathway can play both immunosuppressive and immunostimulatory roles in the tumor microenvironment. Therefore, their tailored targeting could be beneficial as a standalone therapy or in combination with current cancer immunotherapy.

Guidelines for the deployment and implementation of manufacturing scheduling systems [PDF]
It has frequently been stated that there exists a gap between production scheduling theory and practice. In order to put theoretical findings into practice, advances in scheduling models and solution procedures should be embedded into a piece of software

Urine is a rich source of biomarkers for cancer detection. Tumor‐derived material is released into the bloodstream and transported to the urine. Urine can easily be collected from individuals, allowing non‐invasive cancer detection. This review discusses the rationale behind urine‐based cancer detection and its potential for cancer diagnostics ...

ÖĞRENME ETKİLİ HAZIRLIK VE TAŞIMA ZAMANLI PARALEL MAKİNELİ ÇİZELGELEME PROBLEMİ
In studies on scheduling problems, generally setup times and removal times of jobs have been neglected or by including those into processing times solution approaches have been developed.
