The pineapple crown, a by‐product representing 28% of processing residues, is rich in nutrients and phytochemicals with potential for bioactive applications. This study developed and characterized a microencapsulated beverage powder from crown infusion using freeze‐drying (FD) and spray‐drying (SD).

This paper reports a case of Purpureocillium lilacinum infection in seven loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta caretta) hatchlings kept in an aquarium under inadequate condition. The fungus was isolated from skin and pulmonary lesions.

Ontogeny and Structure of the Pericarp of Schinus terebinthifolius Raddi (Anacardiaceae)
The fruit of Schinus terebinthifolius Raddi is a globose red drupe with friable exocarp when ripe and composed of two lignified layers: the epidermis and hypodermis. The mesocarp is parenchymatous with large secretory ducts associated with vascular bundles.
