The novel dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) derivative BNN27 counteracts delay-dependent and scopolamine-induced recognition memory deficits in rats

Neurobiology of Learning and Memory, 2017
Experimental evidence indicates that the neurosteroids dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) and dehydroepiandrosterone sulphate (DHEAS) are involved in cognition. BNN27 is a novel 17C spiroepoxy-DHEA derivative, which devoid of steroidogenic activity. The neuroprotective effects of BNN27 have been recently reported.

Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) seed attenuates memory impairment induced by scopolamine in mice via regulation of cholinergic dysfunction and oxidative stress.

Food & Function, 2019
Cholinergic dysfunction and oxidative stress are the most common causes of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Safflower seed contains various anti-oxidant and cholinergic improvement compounds, such as serotonin and its derivatives.

Design and synthesis of 2-phenyl-1H-benzo[d]imidazole derivatives as 17β-HSD10 inhibitors for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease.

RSC Medicinal Chemistry
It has been reported that 17β-HSD10 plays a key role in Alzheimer's disease. Here, a total of 44 2-phenyl-1H-benzo[d]imidazole derivatives were designed and synthesized as novel 17β-HSD10 inhibitors based on rational design and SAR studies.
