Observations on scopoletin and scopolin metabolism

Phytochemistry, 1970
Abstract The specific activities of scopoletin and scopolin synthesized by tobacco callus from uniformly labeled phenylalanine reached a maximum at 18 hr and then decreased. The formation of scopolin was not influenced by the presence or absence of 2 mg/l. IAA in the incubation medium in 15-hr experiments. In the range 21 to 165 mg/l.

Effects of Scopoletin on Autonomic Transmissions

International Journal of Crude Drug Research, 1984
AbstractThe effects of scopoletin, a coumarin isolated from the fruit of Tetrapleura tetraptera Taub (Mimosaceae), have been investigated on the electrically-induced contractions, relaxations and twitches of some cholinergically- and adrenergically-innervated muscle preparations in vitro and in vivo.

Rutin and Scopoletin Content and Micropropagation ofFabiana imbricata

Planta Medica, 1994
An HPLC method for the simultaneous quantitative determination of rutin and scopoletin in the aerial parts of FABIANA IMBRICATA is presented. The results showed high variability in the scopoletin (240-2,400 mg%) and rutin (195-1,950 mg%) content in the populations surveyed. A micropropagation method for F.

Identification of scopoletin in hydrolysates of Weigela (caprifoliaceae)

Phytochemistry, 1968
Abstract Scopoletin (6-methoxy-7-hydroxycoumarin) has been identified as a major phenolic constituent in hydrolysates of two species and one hybrid of Weigela (Caprifoliaceae).

A DFT analysis of the antioxidant capacity of scopolin and scopoletin

Journal of Molecular Modeling
Scopolin and scopoletin belong to the class of coumarins and have experimentally proven natural antioxidants. Natural antioxidants are crucial in mitigating the impact of oxidants in the human body through radical scavenging. Even though scopolin and scopoletin are proven antioxidants by experimental results, their antioxidant mechanisms still remained
