Karyotype variation and biochemical analysis of five Vicia species

open access: yesBulletin of the National Research Centre, 2020
Background Fabaceae is considered as the third largest family, which includes more than 727 genera and 20,000 species. The genus Vicia has from 180 to 210 species. Vicia species have a great economical and agricultural importance.

SDS-PAGE gel electrophoresis v4

open access: yes, 2021
SDS-PAGE gel electrophoresis protocol for analyzing samples from plant leaf tissue via immunofluorescence. In this protocol no Coomassie blue is added to samples, the reason is that this interferes with the fluorescent signal during immunoblot. Instead, samples have already been prepared in Laemmli buffer (minus coomassie, protein extraction procedure),

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Identification of barley cultivars using SDS-PAGE electrophoresis

open access: yesAgricultural and Food Science, 1992
Sodium dodecyl sulphate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) was applied to cultivar identification. Three different extractions methods were used to extract and fractionate the seed storage protein subunits from crushed single seeds of barley ...

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Proteinograma sérico de veados-catingueiro (Mazama gouazoubira) criados em cativeiro obtido por eletroforese em gel de agarose e de poliacrilamida (SDS PAGE) Serum protein concentrations of captive brown brocket deer (Mazama gouazoubira) determined by means of agarosis and sodium dodecyl sulphate-polyacrylamide (SDS-PAGE) gel electrophoresis

open access: yesArquivo Brasileiro de Medicina Veterinária e Zootecnia, 2008
The serum protein concentrations of brown brocket deer (Mazama gouazoubira) obtained by agarosis gel and sodium dodecyl sulphate-polyacrylamide (SDS-PAGE) gel were determined from blood samples of ten adult healthy animals (six females and four males ...

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.
