Data on molecular characterization and expression profiles of the NF-κB repressing factor gene in red sea bream (Pagrus major)

open access: yesData in Brief, 2019
Nuclear factor-kappaB (NF-κB) repressing factor (NKRF) specifically inhibits the transcriptional activity of NF-κB protein. The PmNKRF cDNA is composed of 757 amino acid residues. Alignment analysis revealed that the G-patch and R3H domains are conserved

Behavioural stress responses predict environmental perception in European sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Individual variation in the response to environmental challenges depends partly on innate reaction norms, partly on experience-based cognitive/emotional evaluations that individuals make of the situation. The goal of this study was to investigate whether

Effectiveness of Low Rearing Density against Red Sea Bream Iridoviral Disease in Red Sea Bream Pagrus major

open access: yesFish Pathology, 2005

A Formalin‐Inactivated Vaccine Enhances Survival and Mitigates Horizontal Transmission of Red Sea Bream Iridovirus (RSIV) in Rock Bream (Oplegnathus fasciatus): Insights From Viability Quantitative PCR

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Formalin‐inactivated vaccines are widely employed as a primary preventive strategy against red sea bream iridoviral disease (RSIVD), which poses a substantial economic threat to the aquaculture of rock bream (Oplegnathus fasciatus). However, conventional quantitative PCR (qPCR) cannot differentiate infectious virions from noninfectious vaccine

Abcc1 deficiency protects from corticosterone but not cortisol‐induced adiposity and insulin resistance in a sex‐specific manner

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend A mouse model of exogenous glucocorticoid (GC) treatment was used to determine (1) if corticosterone induced the same metabolic dysregulation as cortisol, and (2) whether these differences were mediated by the corticosterone‐specific transmembrane exporter Abcc1.

Physiological responses of reared sea bream (Sparus aurata Linnaeus, 1758) to an Amyloodinium ocellatum outbreak [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Amyloodiniosis represents a major bottleneck for semi-intensive aquaculture production in Southern Europe, causing extremely high mortalities. Amyloodinium ocellatum is a parasitic dinoflagellate that can infest almost all fish, crustacean and bivalves ...

Performance and Health Status of Juvenile Largemouth Bass (Micropterus nigricans) Fed Inclusions of Enzyme‐Treated and Low‐Oligosaccharide Soy Proteins

open access: yesAquaculture, Fish and Fisheries, Volume 6, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Plant‐based proteins, such as soybean meal (SBM), have shown promising results in cultured species but also present challenges due to their nutrient composition and inherent antinutritional factors. This study investigated how the replacement of solvent‐extracted SBM with low oligosaccharide soybean meal (LSBM) or enzyme‐treated soybean meal ...

Multi‐Seasonal eDNA Metabarcoding Highlights a Resurgence in Fish Diversity Across a Severely Impacted Estuarine Ecosystem

open access: yesAquaculture, Fish and Fisheries, Volume 6, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Aquatic ecosystems have been in an alarming state of decline for decades. In particular, estuarine ecosystems have experienced long‐term declines in fish diversity due to factors such as habitat degradation, pollution and altered hydrology. Monitoring these systems is often limited by the difficulty and cost of conventional survey methods.
