Cellular senescence and mitochondrial dysfunction disrupt adipose tissue homeostasis during aging, but mechanisms remain unclear. HDAC9 expression increases with age in mouse adipose tissue and Hdac9 knockout mice showed reduced fat mass, senescence markers, and enhanced mitochondrial gene expression, respiration, and thiosulfate sulfurtransferase (Tst)

OSA Initiates Histone Lactylation That Drives PDE4B/FUS/AGT Axis to Pulmonary Hypertension
This study illustrates how chronic intermittent hypoxia (CIH) in obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) leads to hypertension via increased oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfunction in pulmonary artery smooth muscle cells (PASMCs), causing glycolytic dysregulation. Lactate accumulation enhances histone lactylation, upregulating phosphodiesterase 4B (PDE4B),

The caliph and the falcons: a ninth‐century history from Iceland to Iraq
In the late ninth and early tenth centuries, an extraordinary number of falcons were given to the ʿAbbāsid caliphs in Baghdad, many of which were white. Gifts from competing dynasties in the northern provinces of the Caliphate, at least some of these birds were almost certainly gyrfalcons from near the Arctic Circle.

Integrated transcriptomic, proteomic and flow cytometry analyses reveal that STAT1 negatively regulates MAIT cell effector and glycolytic functions, while STAT3, STAT5 and HIF1α act as positive modulators. Targeting these pathways may offer new strategies to restore MAIT cell function in immune dysregulation and cancer.
