The impacts of biological invasions
ABSTRACT The Anthropocene is characterised by a continuous human‐mediated reshuffling of the distributions of species globally. Both intentional and unintentional introductions have resulted in numerous species being translocated beyond their native ranges, often leading to their establishment and subsequent spread – a process referred to as biological

Insoluble biopolyelectrolyte complexes formed between blackberry anthocyanins and λ‐carrageenan are investigated. Optimal complexation occurs at low carrageenan ratios and acidic pH, producing porous hydrogel‐like structures with enhanced thermal stability.

Planes on a Snake? On the Identities of Crab Larvae Rafting on Sea Snakes
We sequenced COI and 16S rRNA genes from 106 crab megalopae found rafting on the pelagic sea snake Hydrophis platurus to test whether they were the obligate rafting species Planes minutus. Instead, all larvae belonged to three inter‐ to supratidal grapsid crabs—Pachygrapsus socius, Goniopsis pulchra, and Grapsus grapsus—revealing no evidence of Planes.

Two trials were conducted in this study investigating the possibilities of a seaweed extract from As-cophyllum nodosum (Maxicrop) in Japanese quails In the first trial, total 336 day old quaiifs were used. During 5 weeks, the animals fed diets containing 0, 0.01, 0.1 and 1 % extract. The effects of Maxicrop on body weight, daily gain, feed intake, feed

Map of sampling for each species, chloroplast and mitochondrial genome phylogeny. ABSTRACT Hybridization is widespread across diverse groups of organisms, and in some cases, organellar genomes of one species become fixed in another following hybridization and backcrossing, a phenomenon known as organelle capture.
