Sebomic identification of sex- and ethnicity-specific variations in residual skin surface components (RSSC) for bio-monitoring or forensic applications

open access: yesLipids in Health and Disease, 2018
Background “Residual skin surface components” (RSSC) is the collective term used for the superficial layer of sebum, residue of sweat, small quantities of intercellular lipids and components of natural moisturising factor present on the skin surface ...

Gingival inflammation and plaque accumulation affect therapeutic outcomes in patients with acne vulgaris

open access: yesJournal of Periodontology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background We hypothesized that acne vulgaris (AV) and gingivitis were associated through systemic inflammatory mechanisms, sharing common etiological factors. This study aimed to identify the association between AV and gingivitis and to assess changes in acne severity in relation to changes in the plaque index (PI).

Efficacy and Safety of Small‐Spot 755 nm Picosecond Laser‐Induced Optical Breakdown for Novel Photomechanical Skin Ablation in Asian Patients

open access: yesLasers in Surgery and Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Conventional ablative and photothermal lasers are commonly used to treat superficial pigmentary lesions but often induce thermal injury and post‐inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), particularly in Asian skin. Picosecond 755‐nm alexandrite lasers with diffractive lens arrays (DLA) create laser‐induced optical breakdown (LIOB ...

Composition Analysis of Sebum Lipids by ATR-FTIR Spectroscopy.

open access: yesJournal of Society of Cosmetic Chemists of Japan, 1997
