Second order optimality conditions for differentiable multiobjective problems [PDF]
Summary: A secood order optimality condition for multiobjective optimization with a set constraints is developed; this condition is expressed as the impossibility of nonhomogeneous linear systems. When the constraint is given in terms of inequalities and equalities, it can be turned into a John type multipliers rule, using a nonhomogeneous Motzkin ...

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Bifurcation Theorems via Second-Order Optimality Conditions
The authors prove new bifurcation existence theorems based on the theory of second-order optimality conditions for abnormal constrained optimization problems [the first author, Optimality conditions. Abnormal and degenerate problems. Dordrecht: Kluwer Academic Publishers (2000; Zbl 0987.49001)]. Remarks: In the list of references the following articles

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Second order systems with nonlinear boundary conditions [PDF]
Some existence theorems are established for nonlinear second order systems with nonlinear two point boundary conditions. The system is assumed to satisfy certain differential inequality conditions at the boundary of a region.

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Bumblebee social learning outcomes correlate with their flower-facing behaviour
Previous studies suggest that social learning in bumblebees can occur through second-order conditioning, with conspecifics functioning as first-order reinforcers.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.
