Manganese(I)-Catalyzed Cross-Coupling of Ketones and Secondary Alcohols with Primary Alcohols [PDF]

open access: yesACS Omega, 2019
Catalytic cross-coupling of ketones and secondary alcohols with primary alcohols is reported. An abundant manganese-based pincer catalyst catalyzes the reactions.

Catalytic Cross-Coupling of Secondary Alcohols

open access: yesJournal of the American Chemical Society, 2019
Herein, an unprecedented ruthenium(II) catalyzed direct cross-coupling of two different secondary alcohols to β-disubstituted ketones is reported. Cyclic, acylic, symmetrical, and unsymmetrical secondary alcohols are selectively coupled with aromatic benzylic secondary alcohols to provide ketone products.

Deoxygenative Borylation of Secondary and Tertiary Alcohols [PDF]

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, 2019
AbstractTwo different approaches for the deoxygenative radical borylation of secondary and tertiary alcohols are presented. These transformations either proceed through a metal‐free silyl‐radical‐mediated pathway or utilize visible‐light photoredox catalysis. Readily available xanthates or methyl oxalates are used as radical precursors.

Nickela-electrocatalyzed C-H Alkoxylation with Secondary Alcohols: Oxidation-Induced Reductive Elimination at Nickel(III). [PDF]

open access: yesAngew Chem Int Ed Engl, 2020
Nickela‐electrooxidative C−H alkoxylations with challenging secondary alcohols were accomplished in a fully dehydrogenative fashion, thereby avoiding stoichiometric chemical oxidants, with H2 as the only stoichiometric byproduct.

Improved Process for the Palladium-Catalyzed C-O Cross-Coupling of Secondary Alcohols. [PDF]

open access: yesOrg Lett, 2020
An improved protocol for the Pd-catalyzed C-O cross-coupling of secondary alcohols is described. The use of biaryl phosphine L2 as the ligand was key to achieving efficient cross-coupling of (hetero)aryl chlorides with only a 20% molar excess of the ...

CALB Immobilized onto Magnetic Nanoparticles for Efficient Kinetic Resolution of Racemic Secondary Alcohols: Long-Term Stability and Reusability [PDF]

open access: yesMolecules, 2019
In this study, an immobilization strategy for magnetic cross-linking enzyme aggregates of lipase B from Candida antarctica (CALB) was developed and investigated. Magnetic particles were prepared by conventional co-precipitation.

Mechanically induced oxidation of alcohols to aldehydes and ketones in ambient air: Revisiting TEMPO-assisted oxidations [PDF]

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2017
The present work addresses the development of an eco-friendly and cost-efficient protocol for the oxidation of primary and secondary alcohols to the corresponding aldehydes and ketones by mechanical processing under air. Ball milling was shown to promote

Intramolecular substitutions of secondary and tertiary alcohols with chirality transfer by an iron(III) catalyst

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
The direct substitution of the OH group of stereogenic alcohols are reported rarely in literature. Here, the authors demonstrate direct substitution of both secondary and tertiary alcohols with chirality transfer leading to enantioenriched 5-membered, 6 ...
