Non-linear technological progress and the substitutability of energy for capital: an application using the translog cost function. [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper analyses the production process of four industries over four separate time periods using datasets taken form Berndt and Wood (1975, 1979), Hunt (1984a, 1986), Norsworthy and Harper (1981) and Jorgensen and Stiroh (2000). In their initial paper

Targeting rapid TKI‐induced AXL upregulation overcomes adaptive ERK reactivation and exerts antileukemic effects in FLT3/ITD acute myeloid leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptive ERK reactivation hinders FLT3 tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) treatment in FLT3/ITD acute myeloid leukemia. Here, we report that FLT3 TKI treatment rapidly induces AXL expression and upregulation that is temporally associated with the adaptive ERK reactivation.

Fedco Seeds 2021: Seeds and Supplies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
When is a seed catalog more than a seed catalog? When it is the Fedco Seed catalog. Fedco, founded in 1978, is a worker-consumer cooperative in Maine known for promoting the ideals of cooperation, transparency, and the common ownership of seeds.

Combined spatially resolved metabolomics and spatial transcriptomics reveal the mechanism of RACK1‐mediated fatty acid synthesis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The authors analyzed the spatial distributions of gene and metabolite profiles in cervical cancer through spatial transcriptomic and spatially resolved metabolomic techniques. Pivotal genes and metabolites within these cases were then identified and validated.

Finding the seed of uniform attachment trees [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
A uniform attachment tree is a random tree that is generated dynamically. Starting from a fixed "seed" tree, vertices are added sequentially by attaching each vertex to an existing vertex chosen uniformly at random. Upon observing a large (unlabeled) tree, one wishes to find the initial seed.

Measuring energy efficiency and its contribution towards meeting CO2 targets: estimates for 29 OECD countries [PDF]

open access: yes
Using results for 29 OECD countries from the estimation of an extended version of the model advocated by Filippini and Hunt (2011a), actual energy consumption and CO2 emissions are compared to notional energy consumption and CO2 emissions if the ...

Integrative systems‐level analysis reveals a contextual crosstalk between hypoxia and global metabolism in human breast tumors

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast tumor samples scored for metabolic deregulation (M1 to M3) were given a hypoxia score (HS). The highest HS occurred in patients with strongest metabolic deregulation (M3), supporting tumor aggressiveness. HS correlated with the highest number of metabolic pathways in M1. This suggests hypoxia to be an early event in metabolic deregulation.

Magneto-Priming of Seeds Decreases the Saline Effect of Wastewater Irrigation on Broccoli Germination and Seedling Growth

open access: yesSeeds
Crop plant varieties exhibit diverse reactions when subjected to wastewater irrigation in terms of seed germination, seedling development, and overall productivity.

On the discovery of the seed in uniform attachment trees [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
We investigate the size of vertex confidence sets for including part of (or the entirety of) the seed in seeded uniform attachment trees, given knowledge of some of the seed's properties, and with a prescribed probability of failure. We also study the problem of identifying the leaves of a seed in a seeded uniform attachment tree, given knowledge of ...
