Synthesis of tritium-labeled Selank
Radiochemistry, 2006A scheme was developed for the synthesis of Selank (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro) and its precursor (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly). Condensation of the tert-butyloxycarbonyl derivative of Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly with labeled proline yielded Selank labeled in the C-terminal proline fragment.

Antiviral properties of structural fragments of the peptide Selank
Doklady Biological Sciences, 201079 Widening of the spectrum of antiviral drugs remains an urgent task. Until now, viral diseases, including influenza, herpes, cytomegaloviral infec tion, and others, are widespread and poorly controlled infections. Therefore, development of new safe antivi ral drugs is very important.

Effect of Selank on Spontaneous Synaptic Activity of Rat Hippocampal CA1 Neurons
Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine, 2017Application of anxiolytic drug Selank to hippocampal slices increased the amplitude and discharge rate of spontaneous inhibitory postsynaptic currents in rat hippocampal pyramidal CA1 neurons. In some neurons, Selank-induced up-regulation of spontaneous inhibitory postsynaptic currents was preceded by a transient decrease in this activity.

[Compensatory and antiamnestic effects of heptapeptide Selank in monkeys].
Zhurnal evoliutsionnoi biokhimii i fiziologii, 2008The work presents results of study of role of heptapeptide Selank--an anxiolytic from group of biologically active peptides--in compensation of disturbed psychic and homeostatic functions in monkeys. New data have been obtained which indicate that an intranasal administration of Selank produces long-term changes of the monkeys' behavior disturbed ...

Physiological Effects of Selank and Its Fragments
Biology Bulletin, 2019The development of Selank based on the natural regulatory peptide tuftsin allowed combining the native bioactivity of the molecule with the design engineering of certain physiological functions. Based on a summary of the experimental and clinical data, a comparative analysis of the structural and functional regularities of the effects of Selank and its

We studied the effects of Selank on the condition of the colon wall in Wistar male rats subjected to restraint stress. Selank was injected intraperitoneally in doses of 80, 250, and 750 μg/kg 15 min before stress exposure. In rats subjected to stress, signs of atrophy, inflammatory reaction, and changes in the number and functional activity of mast ...

Effect of Selank on Morphological Parameters of Rat Liver in Chronic Foot-Shock Stress
Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine, 2019We studied the effects of Selank on morphological parameters of the liver in Wistar male rats subjected to chronic foot-shock stress. Selank was injected intraperitoneally in doses of 100, 300 and 1000 μg/kg 15 min before each stress session. Morphological and morphometrical analysis showed that chronic foot-shock stress induced hydropic degeneration ...

Effect of selank on the main carboxypeptidases in the rat nervous tissue
Journal of Evolutionary Biochemistry and Physiology, 2012Effect of single selank administration on activity of carboxypeptidase H and of phenylmethylsulfonylfluoride-inhibited carboxypeptidase - enzymes detaching arginine and lysine from C-terminus of molecules-precursors of biologically active peptides was studied.

State of Colon Microbiota in Rats during Chronic Restraint Stress and Selank Treatment
Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine, 2019We studied the effects of Selank on intestinal microbiota in Wistar male rats subjected to chronic restraint stress. Selank was injected intraperitoneally in doses of 80, 250 and 750 μg/kg 15 min before stress exposure. Chronic restraint stress led to a decrease in the content of obligate microflora, while the content of opportunistic microorganisms ...

Expression of inflammation-related genes in mouse spleen under tuftsin analog Selank
Regulatory Peptides, 2011Previous studies have shown that synthetic tuftsin analogue Selank causes a transcriptomic response in the rat hippocampus and in spleen cells and may participate in the regulation of inflammatory processes in the body. In this work we studied the effect of Selank and two of its fragments on the expression of genes involved in processes of inflammation.
