Machine tool selection based on fuzzy evaluation and optimization of cutting parameters

open access: yesJournal of Measurement Science and Instrumentation, 2015
The paper analyzes the factors influencing machine tool selection.By using fuzzy mathematics theory,we establish a theorietical model for optimal machine tool selection considering geometric features, clamping size, machining range, machining precision and ...

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Inhibition of cyclin‐dependent kinases 12/13 using CT7439 as a treatment for colorectal cancer with CDK12 upregulation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The proposed mechanism of action for the CDK12/13 inhibitor and cyclin K degrader, CT7439. CDK12/13 inhibition interrupts transcription elongation, leading to increased DNA damage that results in cell death. This agent is a potentially novel treatment option for patients with colorectal cancer. Created in BioRender. Cyclin‐dependent kinase (CDK) 12 and

Illegal racial discrimination in jury selection: A continuing legacy

open access: yes, 2010
Nearly 135 years after Congress passed the Civil Rights Act of 1875 to eliminate racial discrimination in jury selection, people of color continue to be excluded from jury service because of their race, especially in serious criminal trials and death ...

GIS-AHP-based site selection for surface rainwater harvesting in the Beshilo sub-basin, Ethiopia

open access: yesFrontiers in Water
IntroductionWater scarcity remains a pressing global problem, influenced by climate variability, limited access to water storage, and considerable reliance on rain-fed agriculture, making rainwater harvesting particularly relevant in drought-prone areas,

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

SELECTION OF RATIONAL METHODOLOGY FOR GEODETIC MONITORING OF TECHNOGENIC EARTH SURFACE DEFORMATIONS

open access: yesНаука и техника, 2012
The paper reveals that while executing quantitative monitoring of technogenic earth surface deformations in geomechanical tasks geodetic and distance methods for measuring displacement of check points must be uniformly precise.

Preoperative circulating tumor cells integrated with imaging analysis for prognostic evaluation in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detecting circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in blood before surgery may help predict outcomes in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Here, we show when combined with tumor size and lymph node involvement from routine imaging, CTC status identifies high‐risk patients with poorer survival—offering a simple, minimally invasive tool ...
