IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Robustness of dynamic quantum control: Differential sensitivity bounds [PDF]

open access: yes
Dynamic control via optimized, piecewise-constant pulses is a common paradigm for open-loop control to implement quantum gates. While numerous methods exist for the synthesis of such controls, there are many open questions regarding the robustness of the

A Comparative Study of UCB and Thompson Sampling with Structured Rewards: Parameter Sensitivity and Robustness [PDF]

open access: yesITM Web of Conferences
The behavior of multi-armed bandit (MAB) algorithms is closely tied to how their hyperparameters are set, but their stability in structured reward environments has not been examined in depth.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Exploring genetic variation in potential indicators of resilience in sheep using fibre diameter measured along the wool staple

open access: yesAnimal
Production animals are increasingly exposed to a wide variety of disturbances that can compromise their productivity, health and well-being. As a result, there is a growing need to be able to select animals that are more resilient to environmental ...

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Geometric Interpretation of Frequency Domain Robustness Constraints and Closed-Loop Pole Locations

open access: yesMathematics
Requirements for robustness and performance in the frequency domain in control theory are usually formulated as constraints on the modulus of complex functions describing the open-loop system, the sensitivity function, and the complementary sensitivity ...

EPS Current Tracking Method Research Based on Hybrid Sensitivity H∞ Control Algorithm

open access: yesJournal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2018
For electric power steering system (EPS), road interference, noise of the sensor, and the uncertainty of the steering system may make EPS control effect and the driver's road sense worse. EPS system which takes advantage of good current tracking ability,

Extended Sensitivity Analysis for Applied General Equilibrium Models [PDF]

open access: yes
Previous sensitivity analysis procedures for applied general equilibrium models have focussed on the values of exogenously assigned elasticity parameters, while the calibrated parameters -those that are obtained from combining elasticity information with

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...
