AI‐Designed TREM1‐Targeted LYTAC Nanoparticles Reprogram the Neuroimmune Microenvironment in Traumatic Brain Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
AI‐enabled de novo design of a TREM1 binder, integrated into a BBB‐crossing and macrophage‐targeted nanoplatform, enables TREM1 degradation and attenuates neuroinflammation, thereby promoting neuroprotection and tissue repair after traumatic brain injury. ABSTRACT Secondary neuroinflammation drives progressive damage after traumatic brain injury (TBI),

An Expertise Transfer Framework For Autonomous Surgical Assistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces an expertise transfer framework for procedure‐spanning autonomous surgical assistance. By emulating expert logic through hierarchical perception, attention modeling, and knowledge graph‐based decision‐making, the system provides near‐expert surgical view assistance.

Human-inspired sensorimotor controller for dynamic motion adaptation: a study in robotic arms

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurorobotics
Robotic systems operating in dynamic environments often struggle to adapt their movements to external sensory signals without relying on explicit analytical models or conventional position-tracking control schemes.

Towards a self-organizing pre-symbolic neural model representing sensorimotor primitives

open access: yesFrontiers in Behavioral Neuroscience, 2014
The acquisition of symbolic and linguistic representations of sensorimotor behavior is a cognitive process performed by an agent when it is executing and/or observing own and others' actions. According to Piaget's theory of cognitive development,

Robotic self-exploration and acquisition of sensorimotor skills [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019

Evolution of Physical Intelligence Across Scales

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
By following the evolution of physical intelligence across scales, this article shows how intelligence arises from materials, structures, physical interactions, and collectives. It establishes physical intelligence as the evolutionary foundation upon which embodied intelligence is built.

TULP4, a novel E3 ligase gene, participates in neuronal migration as a candidate in schizophrenia

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, EarlyView., 2023
Mutations identified from four SCZ pedigrees resulted in decreased TULP4 expression. Tulp4 knockdown caused delayed neuron migration in embryonic mice, and impaired cognition and prepulse inhibition in adult mice. These phenotypes may be related to TULP4 through its involvement in the formation of a novel E3 ubiquitin ligases.

Vision‐Based Tactile Finger Integrating Fingerpad and Nail Sensing for Robotic Manipulation

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This vision‐based tactile finger captures nail force and fingerpad force, contact position, and in‐plane orientation with one internal camera. An external camera recognizes the target and presets finger inclination from object height. The compact dual‐sensing design supports tactile‐guided table contact and reliable grasping of objects ranging from ...

A biomimetic ducted nipple reveals gestational age‐dependent deficits in suction generation in a neonatal pig model

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract All infant mammals must suckle in order to effectively acquire milk from a nipple. Yet, not all infants are able to do so. Preterm infants in particular face significant feeding challenges, often failing to establish successful breastfeeding due to complex neurophysiologic challenges.

Imitation as a conjunction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The conjunctive conception takes imitation to be a combination of observational learning and copying. In the target article, and elsewhere, this conception generates problems in 1) explaining the copying of intransitive actions, 2) elucidating the ...
