Smaller is better: nanobodies meet NMR
Nanobodies are single‐domain antigen‐binding fragments derived from camelid heavy chain antibodies. Their small size, high stability, and exceptional specificity make nanobodies uniquely useful probes for NMR studies of protein dynamics, transient conformational states, and protein–protein interactions.

Rheological Evaluation of Sensory Attributes of Lipstick
Sensory attributes of lipstick were evaluated by measuring the strain dependence of storage modulus (G') and dissipation factor (tan δ) of the lipstick sample that was kneaded by a newly developed method (Petri dish method). First a sliced lipstick peace set between two glass plates was squeezed by pressing on the upper plate and then kneaded by moving

Identification of substitute muscle groups for retail beef demand and supply equations [PDF]
In modelling retail meat demand and supply equations it is difficult to identify close substitutes or competing products. However, close substitutes can be identified through a comparison of meat attributes, especially cooking method and sensory ...

Analysis of Sensory Properties in Foods: A Special Issue
The sensory properties of foods are the most important reason people eat the foods they eat. What those properties are and how we best measure those properties are critical to understanding food and eating behavior.

Transient oligomers formed by intrinsically disordered proteins may be ‘invisible’ to direct detection yet remain accessible to solution NMR through equilibrium‐exchange measurements and pressure‐jump experiments. Complementary methods report on mass, stoichiometry, selected distance distributions, morphology, and internal packing.

Sensory Analysis to Inform Breeding Decisions in a Segregating Grapevine Population
In plant breeding settings, the flavor and aroma of new cultivars are traditionally evaluated based on the judgements of breeders or small technical groups without using data from sensory panels.

CORRELATIONS AMONG GRAIN CHARACTERISTICS USED TO DETERMINE THE EFFECTS OF MILLED RICE STORAGE TIME AND TEMPERATURE ON AROMATIC RICE QUALITY [PDF]
Summary statistics and corresponding Spearman correlation coefficients are illustrated for various subsets of aromatic milled rice storage time and temperature data from (a) the College Station texture sensory panel, (b) the New Orleans aroma and flavor ...

Going viral − Virus‐targeting nanobodies for research, diagnostics and therapy
The increasing prevalence of viral diseases represents a major threat for global human health. Nanobodies, small binding fragments derived from camelid heavy‐chain antibodies, offer versatile tools for viral research, diagnostics, and antiviral therapy.

Aroma Characteristics of Raw and Cooked Tenebrio molitor Larvae (Mealworms)
This study compared aroma compositions and sensory aroma attributes of raw and cooked Tenebrio molitor larvae (mealworms). Main sensory aroma attributes of raw mealworms were strong wet-soil-like, and less-intense oily, shrimp-like and sweet-corn-like ...

Consumers' Willingness to Pay for Treatment-Induced Quality Attributes in Anjou Pears [PDF]
Ethylene treatments provide an effective method for shortening post-harvest ripening periods for winter Anjou pears and allow market availability throughout the year. However, pear quality may vary under different treatments.
