Digital twins to accelerate target identification and drug development for immune‐mediated disorders

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Digital twins integrate patient‐derived molecular and clinical data into personalised computational models that simulate disease mechanisms. They enable rapid identification and validation of therapeutic targets, prediction of drug responses, and prioritisation of candidate interventions.

Rapid screening of staphylokinase protein variants using an unpurified cell‐free expression system

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An unpurified cell‐free protein synthesis (CFPS) platform enables rapid functional screening of staphylokinase variants. Direct plasminogen‐activation assays performed in microplate format provide real‐time activity readouts, allowing rapid identification and ranking of variants with improved or reduced fibrinolytic activity without protein ...

Multilocus sequence typing

Trends in Microbiology, 1999
Multilocus sequence typing (MLST) provides a new approach to molecular epidemiology that can identify and track the global spread of virulent or antibiotic-resistant isolates of bacterial pathogens using the Internet. MLST databases, together with interrogation software, are available for Neisseria meningitidis and Streptococcus pneumoniae and ...

On exponential type sequences

Discrete Applied Mathematics, 2023
Given a multiset \(S\) of integers, let also \(P(S)\) be the set of all finite sums of distinct terms taken from \(S\); in particular \(0 \in P(S)\). Fix an integer \(p\ge 2\) and a nonempty finite multi \(A\) of positive integers. Define the multiset \[ S_pA:=\{p^i a: i \ge 0, a \in A\}.

THE DIHEDRAL-TYPE ADJACENCY SEQUENCES

JP Journal of Algebra, Number Theory and Applications, 2018
Summary: In this paper, a dihedral-type adjacency sequence is defined by using the adjacency matrix which is obtained via a Cayley graph of the dihedral group. Also, we consider the semi-groups which are produced by the generating matrices and we study their orders. Furthermore, we examine the dihedral-type adjacency sequence in groups.

Type Sequences of Numerical Semigroups

Semigroup Forum, 1998
A numerical semigroup (briefly n.s.) \(S\subseteq\mathbb{N}\cup\{0\}\) is a subsemigroup of \((\mathbb{N},+)\) with \(0\in S\). Note that every n.s. is finitely generated. If \(g(S)=\max\{x\in\mathbb{Z}\setminus S\}\) is the so called Frobenius number of \(S\) and \(n(S)=\text{Card}(\{0,1,\dots,g(S)\}\cap S)\) then \(S=\{0=s_0,s_1,\dots,s_{n-1},s_n=g(S)

PCR-DNA Sequence Typing

2003
There is a great need to develop molecular techniques for the typing of Helicobacter pylori isolates since classical bacteriological assays, such as serotyping or lysotyping, are lacking. Such techniques would provide the microbiologist with the tools necessary to differentiate one strain from another one (essential for epidemiological studies), to ...

Polynomial Sequences of Interpolatory Type

Studies in Applied Mathematics, 1993
Continuing his previous investigations [ibid. 79, No. 1, 65-92 (1988; Zbl 0696.05004), \((*)\) Adv. Math. 58, 89-108 (1985; Zbl 0583.05010) and ibid. 85, 215-242 (1991)], the author studies sequences of polynomials which are well suited for Hermite interpolation from the point of view of convergence, computing the coefficient, evaluations and ...
