SERIAL LEARNING IN THE PIGEON [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior, 1979
Three pigeons learned to peck four colors in a particular sequence, regardless of how these colors were positioned on four response keys and without feedback following each response. This demonstrates that serial learning is possible in subprimate animals.

Factor Implicit Model of Machine Classification Learning Based on Factor Space Theory

open access: yesComputer Sciences & Mathematics Forum, 2023
The algorithm proposed in this paper can not only solve the binary classification problem, but can also solve the multi-classification problem. The combination of categories is defined on the basis of the sweeping serial classification algorithm, and the

Serial learning in a continuous serial list [PDF]

open access: yesPsychonomic Science, 1965
Learning of a continuous serial list with no intertriai interval (ITI) and no starting symbol was compared with learning of a standard serial list. As in a previous study by Lippman & Denny (1964), it was found that the continuous list was learned significantly more slowly and yielded a flattened serial position curve.

Skill acquisition as a function of age, hand and task difficulty: Interactions between cognition and action.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
Some activities can be meaningfully dichotomised as 'cognitive' or 'sensorimotor' in nature-but many cannot. This has radical implications for understanding activity limitation in disability.

Machine Learning-Based Fast Banknote Serial Number Recognition Using Knowledge Distillation and Bayesian Optimization

open access: yesSensors, 2019
We investigated a machine-learning-based fast banknote serial number recognition method. Unlike existing methods, the proposed method not only recognizes multi-digit serial numbers simultaneously but also detects the region of interest for the serial ...

Mediated serial learning [PDF]

open access: yesPsychonomic Science, 1964
This study demonstrated a mediation effect in serial learning. Prior to learning an A-B-C-D serial list Experimental Ss learned an A-B’, C-D’ paired-associate (PA) list in which B and D were the primary word associates of B’ and D’. A Control group learned an A-X, C-Y PA list and then the same serial list.
