Model of a Photovoltaic Cell for the MatLab/Simulink SimPowerSystems Library
A new Simulink model of a photovoltaic cell has been proposed. The model is focused on the use of a standard SimPowerSystems library with power engineering elements from the MatLab/Simulink software package.

Resistance decay in individuals after antibiotic exposure in primary care: A systematic review and meta-analysis [PDF]
Background Antibiotic resistance is an urgent global problem, but reversibility is poorly understood. We examined the development and decay of bacterial resistance in community patients after antibiotic use.

Modelling the microfiltration of lactic acid fermentation broths and comparison of operating modes [PDF]
clarification of fermentation broths by cross-flow microfiltration. Microfiltration experiments conducted under constant transmembrane pressure and under constant permeate fluxes (higher and lower than the critical flux) were represented by the ...

Performance Evaluation of Analytical Methods for Parameters Extraction of Photovoltaic Generators
This paper presents a succinct exploration of several analytical methods for extracting the parameters of the single-diode model (SDM) of a photovoltaic (PV) module under standard test conditions (STC). The paper investigates six methods and presents the

Violation of Kirchhoff's Laws for a Coherent RC Circuit [PDF]
What is the complex impedance of a fully coherent quantum resistance-capacitance (RC) circuit at GHz frequencies in which a resistor and a capacitor are connected in series? While Kirchhoff's laws predict addition of capacitor and resistor impedances, we

Series Resistance Reduction in Stacked Nanowire FETs for 7-nm CMOS Technology
Vertically stacked nanowire field effect transistors currently dominate the race to become mainstream devices for 7-nm CMOS technology node. However, these devices are likely to suffer from the issue of nanowire stack position dependent drain current. In

BSAC Vanguard Series: Behavioural science and antimicrobial resistance
Abstract Antimicrobial resistance could cause 10 million deaths per year by 2050 if no action is taken. While we depend on researchers to find new antimicrobials, reducing the demand for existing ones requires human behaviour change. This article by The Behavioural Insights Team discusses some of the areas with the greatest potential for

On the extraction of threshold voltage, effective channel length and series resistance of MOSFETs
The first part of this article presents the modeling of the long-channel bulk MOSFET as a particular case of the SOI MOSFET. The second part reviews compares and scrutinizes various methods to extract the threshold voltage, the effective channel and the

Resistance to Thyroid Hormones: A Case-Series Study
The aim of the study is to describe the clinical features of two unrelated patients with resistance to thyroid hormones (RTH), the first, a total thyroidectomized patient, and the second, a pregnant woman. We report the features found in her newborn who also showed RTH.
