Effect of disorder on the conductance of a Cu atomic point contact [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We present a systematic study of the effect of the disorder in copper point contacts. We show that peaks in the conductance histogram of copper point contacts shift upon addition of nickel impurities.

Resistant tuberculosis in Maranhão, Brazil: a case series [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Research Notes, 2016
Mycobacterium tuberculosis multidrug resistance, especially against rifampicin and isoniazid, places pulmonary tuberculosis in the list of emerging diseases. The misuse of therapeutic regimens is one of its main predisposing factors.Four clinical cases (three were brown and one black) with multidrug-resistant tuberculosis, treated in a reference ...

Frequency and Voltage Dependence of Series Resistance in a Solar Cell [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
While admittance measurements of solar cells are typically conducted in reverse or at zero bias, and analyzed using the depletion approximation, the operating point of the solar cell is in forward bias, and the series resistance is often estimated using ...

Understanding cisplatin resistance using cellular models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Many mechanisms of cisplatin resistance have been proposed from studies of cellular models of resistance including changes in cellular drug accumulation, detoxification of the drug, inhibition of apoptosis and repair of the DNA adducts.

Gemcitabine, Docetaxel, Melphalan, Carboplatin as Part of Sequential Cycles of High‐Dose Chemotherapy With Autologous Hematopoietic Stem‐Cell Rescue for Multiply Relapsed/Refractory Pediatric Germ Cell Tumors

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Although most malignant germ cell tumors (GCTs) are highly curable with cisplatin‐based therapy, options for patients with multiply relapsed/refractory disease remain limited. For this population, we report the first pediatric use of gemcitabine, docetaxel, melphalan, and carboplatin (GemDMC) as part of sequential cycles of high‐dose ...

Designing transparent conducting electrodes to enhance the performance of large-area perovskite solar cells

open access: yesJPhys Energy
In solar cell research, transparent conducting electrodes (TCEs) are typically not included in device optimization. In this study, we investigate the properties of TCEs to identify the most important one(s) for the performance of large-area perovskite ...

Adjunctive Therapeutic Plasma Exchange in Refractory Adult‐Onset Still's Disease Complicated by Secondary Macrophage Activation Syndrome: A Single‐Center Experience

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Adult‐onset Still's disease (AOSD) complicated by macrophage activation syndrome (MAS) carries substantial mortality. The role of therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) remains uncertain. Methods We retrospectively analyzed patients with AOSD‐MAS treated with TPE at a single‐center.

Influence of the Assembly Method on the Cell Current Distribution of Series–Parallel Battery Packs Based on Connector Resistance

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2022
In order to meet the energy and power requirements of large-scale battery applications, lithium-ion batteries have to be connected in series and parallel to form various battery packs. However, unavoidable connector resistances cause the inconsistency of
