Sesquiterpene lactone allergy

American Journal of Contact Dermatitis, 1996
Sesquiterpene lactones are a large, diverse group of chemicals found in several plant families that cause allergic contact dermatitis. The biological, botanical, allergenic, and structural significance of sesquiterpene lactones is explored as well as the clinical characteristics of cutaneous reactions.

Sesquiterpene Lactones as Allelochemicals

Journal of Natural Products, 2006
Six new sesquiterpene lactones, annuolide H (3), helivypolides F, H-J (4, 11-13), and helieudesmanolide A (6), together with known compounds, were isolated from polar bioactive fractions of Helianthus annuus cv. SH-222 and Stella fresh leaf water extracts.

Sesquiterpene lactones from Carpesium abrotanoides

Fitoterapia, 2009
Phytochemical study on the ethanol extract of the aerial parts of Carpesium abrotanoides led to the isolation of two new sesquiterpene lactones, carabrolactone A (1) and carabrolactone B (2). Their structures were elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analysis.

Sesquiterpene lactones from Artemisia mongolica

Phytochemistry, 2022
Twelve undescribed sesquiterpene lactones and seven known sesquiterpene lactones were isolated from the whole plant of Artemisia mongolica. Their structures were elucidated based on the interpretation of NMR, HRESIMS, and electronic circular dichroism (ECD) data.

Sesquiterpene lactones from Saussurea involucrata

Fitoterapia, 2011
Bioassay-directed separation of the ethyl acetate extract from the aerial parts of Saussurea involucrata (Kar. et Kir. ex Maxim) led to the isolation of three new sesquiterpene lactones sausinlactones A (1), B (2), C (3) and six known ones (4-9). The structures were established by spectroscopic data (UV, IR, HRESIMS, 1D and 2D NMR).
