Role of ZNF652 in Regulating Hepatocellular Carcinoma Cell Proliferation and Apoptosis via the circRHOT1/SLC38A6 Axis

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a heterogeneous malignancy characterized by high mortality rates. This article presents a discussion of the role of ZNF652 in HCC cell proliferation and apoptosis, thereby identifying a new target for HCC treatment. The expression levels of ZNF652, circRHOT1, and SLC38A6 in HCC and healthy cells were analyzed.

AN INTERESTING CASE OF FAMILIAL HOMOZYGOUS HYPERCHOLESTEROLEMIA, SFH RIYADH KSA. [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Research, 2017
Familial hypercholesterolemia is an inherited condition that cause high level of LDL and cholesterol levels beginning birth . Familial hypercholesterolemia is run in families in an autosomal manner . In autosomal dominant inherited conditions , a parent who carries an altered gene that cause the condition has 1 to 2 (50 percent ) chance to pass on that

Poly(2‐Oxazoline)‐Based Polyphotoacids: Synthesis, Solution Behavior, and Cellular Uptake of Multi‐Responsive Intracellular Transporters

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
The ability of photoacids to increase their acidity in response to light irradiation (excited state proton transfer, ESPT) makes them attractive building blocks for the design of stimuli‐responsive copolymers. In this contribution, we present highly biocompatible polyphotoacids based on poly(2‐oxazoline)s bearing 1‐hydroxypyrene units. Low cytotoxicity,

Systematic braiding of Smoke-Free Home SafeCare to address child maltreatment risk and secondhand smoke exposure: findings from a pilot study

open access: yesPilot and Feasibility Studies, 2023
Background Exposure to secondhand tobacco smoke (SHS) and child maltreatment are preventable threats to child health. Few evidence-based interventions target both SHS and child maltreatment risk.

The star formation histories of red and blue low surface brightness disk galaxies

open access: yes, 2010
We study the star formation histories (SFH) and stellar populations of 213 red and 226 blue nearly face-on low surface brightness disk galaxies (LSBGs), which are selected from the main galaxy sample of Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Data Release Seven (

Comparative Satellitomics in Arowanas (Telostei, Osteoglossiformes) Sheds Light on the Evolution of Ancient Satellite DNAs

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
This work focused on arowana fishes (Teleostei, Osteoglossiformes) as a model; their widespread intercontinental distribution and basal phylogenetic position within Teleostei make them a compelling model for evolutionary research, especially in the realm of satDNA molecular evolution. Through the integration of genomic and chromosomal data, we analyzed

Spatial dependence of the Star Formation History in the Central Regions of the Fornax Dwarf Spheroidal Galaxy

open access: yes, 2013
We present the Star Formation History (SFH) and the age-metallicity relation (AMR) in three fields of the Fornax dwarf spheroidal galaxy. They sample a region spanning from the centre of the galaxy to beyond one core radius, which allows studying ...

MOSFIRE Spectroscopy of Quiescent Galaxies at 1.5 < z < 2.5. II - Star Formation Histories and Galaxy Quenching [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We investigate the stellar populations for a sample of 24 quiescent galaxies at 1.5 < z < 2.5 using deep rest-frame optical spectra obtained with Keck MOSFIRE. By fitting templates simultaneously to the spectroscopic and photometric data, and exploring a

‘Darkness as we face the unknown’: Biopsychosocial‐spiritual experiences of parents of children and young people with type 1 diabetes from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region

open access: yesDiabetic Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Aim Qualitative interviews were conducted as part of the development of a person‐reported outcome measure (PROM) to assess biopsychosocial‐spiritual outcomes of parents of children with type 1 diabetes (T1D) in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
