Shaking table test and cumulative deformation evaluation analysis of a tunnel across the hauling sliding surface

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, Volume 2, Issue 4, Page 371-393, December 2023., 2023
The shaking table test of a tunnel crossing the hauling sliding surface is carried out. The MIa evaluation index considering the natural frequency characteristics of earthquakes is proposed. The plastic effect coefficient evaluation index considering the plastic effect of the lining under an earthquake is proposed.

Ground fault identification and location of autotransformer traction network for high‐speed railway based on multi‐terminals synchronous measure information

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission &Distribution, Volume 17, Issue 24, Page 5458-5472, December 2023., 2023
To address the challenges of incorrect fault identification and location due to the influence of EMUs, this paper proposes a protection scheme based on the synchronous information from the multiple terminals of HSR, which can identify and locate ground faults in critical conditions.

Effect of shinkansen litigation on complaints in the Shinkansen noise and vibration survey.

open access: yesNippon Eiseigaku Zasshi (Japanese Journal of Hygiene), 1986
In order to examine the effect of noise and vibration, a survey of 1187 housewives living along the Shinkansen Super Express railway was conducted by means of a health questionnaire (modified Cornell Medical Index). The Shinkansen Kogai litigation was started in the survey year, and 133 plaintiffs were included as subjects.

Assessment of climate change impacts on river flooding due to Typhoon Hagibis in 2019 using nonglobal warming experiments

open access: yesJournal of Flood Risk Management, Volume 16, Issue 3, September 2023., 2023
Abstract In this study, a series of numerical analyses of meteorology, runoff, river flow, and inundation were performed to quantitatively evaluate the effects of historical warming on precipitation, discharge, water level, and flood inundation. This study was on the flood inundation of the Chikuma River Basin in Japan caused by Typhoon Hagibis in 2019.

The legitimacy acquisition process of Shinkansen speeding up

open access: yesAnnals of Business Administrative Science, 2018
Novel ideas tend to be resisted within existing organizations. Mobilizing resources requires that legitimacy be secured in some form. In the case of the development of JR Central’s 300-series Shinkansen, Japan National Railway, which had existed to date,

Social Shaping of Technological Trajectories of Shinkansen

open access: yesAnnals of Business Administrative Science, 2016
The Tokaido Shinkansen began operating in 1964 and ran at globally unprecedented speeds of more than 200 kmph. Comparison with the operating speed of aircraft necessitated further improvement of the operating speed of Shinkansen.

Velocity profile under Shinkansen vehicle on slab track

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2015
Major sound sources remaining for Shinkansen, after the development and use of various noise reduction techniques, are the pantographs and bogies. Although aerodynamic sound generated from the bogies is highly influenced by air flow under the vehicle ...

Modeling Dynamic Frequency Response on Slab Track of Shinkansen Railway Based on Finite Element Method

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, 2022
The use of slab tracks in lieu of ballast tracks has introduced new dimensions in track dynamics in high-speed railways. To improve the performance of slab tracks under dynamic frequency responses caused by loads on the Shinkansen railway, the present ...
