A new allele at the short tandem repeat locus HumF13A01
International Journal of Legal Medicine, 1997We investigated the (AAAG)n short tandem repeat (STR) polymorphism HumF13A01 an Austrian Caucasoid population sample (n = 674). PCR amplified fragments were detected on an automatic A.L.F. DNA sequencer using laser-induced fluorescence. A total of 14 alleles could be identified including a new 179 bp allele which was designated allele 3.

The genomic landscape of short tandem repeats in cattle
Animal GeneticsAbstractShort tandem repeats (STRs) are abundant and have high mutation rates across cattle genomes; however, comprehensive exploration of cattle STRs is needed. Here, we constructed a comprehensive map of 467 553 polymorphic STRs (pSTRs) constructed from 423 cattle genomes representing 59 breeds worldwide.

Short Tandem Repeat loci analysis in forensic casework
Anthropologischer Anzeiger, 2000The development of polymerase chain reaction typing method has enhanced the possibilities of genetic identification of biological evidence samples for forensic caseworks. The authors report the use of multiplex amplification reactions associating several short tandem repeat loci.

Interlaboratory Evaluation of Short Tandem Repeat Triplex CTT
Journal of Forensic Sciences, 1997Abstract An interlaboratory comparison of typing results for Short Tandem Repeats (STRs) at the GenBank loci HUMCSF1PO, HUMTPOX, HUMTH01, and HUMVWFA31 using the “CTT triplex” and “CTTv quadruplex” has been evaluated. These STRs all have a nominal four basepair (bp) repeat. Seven different samples were distributed to 41 laboratories. The

Instability of short tandem repeats (microsatellites) in human gliomas.
Journal of neurosurgical sciences, 1994Microsatellite instability implying multiple replication errors (RER) characterizes a proportion of familial and sporadic carcinomas. The purpose of this report is to analyze whether microsatellite instability occurred during the development of human gliomas. We checked prospectively 16 central nervous system tumors, including 10 glioblastomas and 6 ...
