This review explores the diverse range of nanomaterials, including polymer, lipid, gold, magnetic, and carbon‐based nanostructures, capable of effectively passing the blood–brain barrier (BBB). Moreover, the structure and function of the BBB in both healthy and diseased states are discussed and the potential of nanotechnology in bypassing the BBB to ...

In this study, we found high Siglec‐7 and Siglec‐9 (ligand) expression in triple negative breast cancer, and to a lower extent in oestrogen receptor positive breast cancer. Moreover, signalling experiments demonstrated that Siglec‐7 signalling is induced by triple negative breast cancer cell lines.

Identification and partial purification of K88ab Escherichia coli receptor proteins in porcine brush border membranes [PDF]
Six receptor proteins, with molecular masses ranging from 94 to 27 kDa, that bind to Escherichia coli K88ab fimbriae were recovered from brush border membranes and were detected after solubilization with Triton X-114.

Proteoglycans are important multifunctional components of the central and peripheral nervous systems and represent a diverse group of specialized proteins that stabilize and functionalize these tissues. Abstract Central and peripheral nervous system (CNS/PNS) proteoglycans (PGs) have diverse functional roles, this study examined how these control ...

Sialoglycoproteins and sialyltransferases: Key regulators of blastocyst formation
Following fertilization, there is an initial period of rapid cell division that leads to the formation of a multicellular structure known as the blastula, or blastocyst. Within this structure, sialic acids play a key role in influencing cellular processes such as signaling, cell-to-cell contact, and adhesion.

Isolated bladder exstrophy associated with a de novo 0.9 Mb microduplication on chromosome 19p13.12.
The exstrophy-epispadias complex (BEEC) is a urogenital birth defect of varying severity. The causes of the BEEC are likely to be heterogeneous, with individual environmental or genetic risk factors still being largely unknown. In this study, we aimed to
