Comparative bioavailability of silibinin in healthy male volunteers
Int. Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, 2003To study a comparative bioavailability of Liverman capsule to Legaion capsule and Silymarin tablet (which contain silibinin) in 24 healthy volunteers.Twenty-four healthy male Korean volunteers received each medicine at the silibinin dose of 120 mg in a 3 x 3 crossover study. There was a 1-week washout period among the doses.

Overview of Silibinin anti-tumor effects
Journal of Herbal Medicine, 2020Abstract Silibinin is a major component of Silymarin mixture (Silybum marianum), which has traditionally been used to treat a wide range of liver diseases. Recently, Silibinin and its flavonoid derivatives in several in vitro models have shown a significant inhibitory effect in different types of tumors including skin, breast, lung, colon, bladder ...

Immunosuppressive effect of silibinin in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis
Archives of Pharmacal Research, 2007Silibinin is the major pharmacologically active compound of silymarin, the Silybum marianum fruit extract. Hepatoprotective activities of silibinin/silymarin are well-known, and recent studies demonstrated their anti-inflammatory and anti-carcinogenic effects which are due to inhibition of the transcription factor NF-kappaB. Based on this knowledge, we

Pharmacokinetic study of iodine-labeled silibinins in rat
Pharmacological Research, 2001The very low bioavailability of silibinin (silybin, SB), the main antioxidant flavonolignan of silymarin from Silybum marianum L. (Asteraceae), requires sensitive methods to study the modulation of silibinin bioavailability. To evaluate the potential for use of radiolabeled silibinin, two silibinin derivatives, separated by HPLC after iodination ((125 ...
