Hepatic B‐cell lymphoma in a wild European badger (Meles meles) in the UK

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 4, November 2026.
Abstract Neoplastic diseases are considered rare in wild European badgers (Meles meles) with a single pelioid hepatocellular carcinoma, and four lymphoma cases (two T‐cell, two unclassified) in the literature. A found‐dead, elderly, male wild badger underwent postmortem examination for Mycobacterium bovis surveillance.

Environmental Drivers of Nontuberculous Mycobacteria in Tropical Freshwater Systems

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology, Volume 28, Issue 11, November 2026.
In tropical freshwater ecosystems, nontuberculous mycobacterial diversity and distribution is mainly driven by habitat and sample type, and local environmental factors such as sediment texture and depth. These findings highlight the importance of microhabitat conditions over broad biogeographic patterns in shaping mycobacterial communities.

Unmasking the Influence of Viral Micro‐RNAs on Host Immunity

open access: yesImmunology &Cell Biology, Volume 104, Issue 10, Page 964-974, November‐December 2026.
Viral micro‐RNAs are increasingly recognized as key modulators of host–virus interactions. They influence multiple immune functions, including antigen presentation, T‐cell activation, and cytokine signaling, while also tuning viral gene expression to promote persistence.
