Solubility of Silybin in Aqueous Dextran Solutions
Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data, 2005In present work, the solubility of silybin in aqueous dextran solution at the temperature range from (293.15 to 313.15) K was measured by a solid liquid equilibrium method. Experimental results reveal that the solubility of silybin is increased with the increase both in dextran's concentration and temperature.

Laccase-mediated dimerization of the flavonolignan silybin
Journal of Molecular Catalysis B: Enzymatic, 2008Abstract Flavonolignan silybin ( 1 ) present in the seeds of the milk thistle ( Silybum marianum ) is widely used in human therapy of liver dysfunctions and as a hepatoprotectant thanks to its dual function: it acts as a highly effective radical scavenger (antilipoperoxidant) and also as an antioxidant.

[Pharmacotherapy of Amanita phalloides poisoning using silybin].
Wiener klinische Wochenschrift, 1983A total of 18 cases of Amanita phalloides poisoning was treated by combined chemotherapy during 1980 and 1981. After attempted primary elimination of the toxin all patients received silybin as basic therapy mainly by infusion and, in two instances, silymarin orally.
