Overview of the antileukemic effects of Piper nigrum extract in AML. P. nigrum reduced leukemic cell proliferation and glycolytic metabolism through modulation of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway. In vivo, treatment reduced leukemic burden, improved hematological parameters, prolonged survival, and modulated antitumor immune responses.

Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension Associated With Chronic Mephedrone Use: A Case Report

ABSTRACT Mephedrone is a synthetic cathinone with sympathomimetic effects, but has not previously been linked to pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). We report a 42‐year‐old woman with no prior cardiopulmonary disease who presented with severe pre‐capillary PAH after a decade of near‐daily mephedrone use.

Mixed Invasive Aspergillus–Mucorales Pulmonary Coinfection in a Diabetic Patient: An Uncommon Dual Fungal Pneumonia and Literature Review

Our case describes a rare lung co‐infection caused by Aspergillus and Mucorales in a 61‐year‐old man with uncontrolled diabetes and chronic kidney disease. The diagnosis was made by BAL PCR and biopsy. Despite antifungal treatment, the patient worsened and died.

Updates in COPD Management: From Inflammatory Pathways to Targeted Therapies

This review highlights the shift from symptom‐based treatment toward phenotype‐ and biomarker‐directed care. Blood eosinophils, FeNO, and IgE predict corticosteroid responsiveness and identify candidates for biologic therapy.

Summary Umbilical infection is a common foal disorder, prone to complications, requiring surgical excision in severe cases. Timely surgical excision is the treatment of choice in these cases, as the infected umbilicus places the foal at risk for further fatal complications, such as sepsis and septic arthritis.

Ellagic Acid Enhances RSL3‐Induced Ferroptosis by Inhibiting the Nrf2/HO‐1 Signaling Pathway in Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma

Ellagic acid potentiates RSL3‐induced ferroptosis in PANC‐1 by suppressing the Nrf2/HO‐1 antioxidant defense axis via p38 MAPK activation and Keap1 upregulation. In PDAC cells, constitutive Nrf2/HO‐1 signaling establishes a robust antioxidant shield (GPX4, HO‐1) that limits lipid ROS accumulation and confers ferroptosis resistance.
