Thermoelectric single-photon detector

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2012
The ability to detect a single photon is the ultimate level of sensitivity in the measurement of optical radiation. Sensors capable of detecting single photons and determining their energy have many scientific and technological applications. Kondo-enhanced Seebeck effect cryogenic detectors are based on thermoelectric heat-to-voltage conversion and ...

Integration of Single-Photon Sources and Detectors on GaAs [PDF]

open access: yesPhotonics, 2016
Quantum photonic integrated circuits (QPICs) on a GaAs platform allow the generation, manipulation, routing, and detection of non-classical states of light, which could pave the way for quantum information processing based on photons. In this article, the prototype of a multi-functional QPIC is presented together with our recent achievements in terms ...

Natural Frequencies of Levodopa‐Induced Dyskinesia in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Abnormal involuntary movements, known as dyskinesias, are common complications of levodopa treatment in patients with Parkinson's disease and can significantly impair quality of life. The underlying pathophysiology remains unclear, and current therapeutic options are limited.

Subjective Cognitive Concerns and Cognitive Trajectories in Parkinson's Disease: Biomarker Impact

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To examine the relationship of subjective cognitive concerns (SCC) with biomarkers of Alzheimer's disease (AD), neurodegeneration, and Parkinson's disease (PD) and domain‐specific cognitive trajectories among cognitively unimpaired persons with de novo PD. Method Cognitively unimpaired participants with SCC (n = 294) and without SCC (

Automated Characterization of Single-Photon Avalanche Photodiode

open access: yesInternational Islamic University Malaysia Engineering Journal, 2012
We report an automated characterization of a single-photon detector based on commercial silicon avalanche photodiode (PerkinElmer C30902SH). The photodiode is characterized by I-V curves at different illumination levels (darkness, 10 pW and 10 µW), dark ...

Density Measurement of Irradiated and Nonirradiated Zirconium Oxide by Ptychographic X‐Ray Computed Tomography (PXCT)

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mass density governs the protective behavior of oxide layers on nuclear fuel cladding. Ptychographic X‐ray computed tomography measures zirconium oxide grown on Zircaloy‐4 under reactor and autoclave conditions, revealing nearly identical bulk densities of 5.1 ± 0.80 g cm−3.

A Practical Noise2Noise Denoising Pipeline for High‐Throughput Raman Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A lightweight and reproducible denoising pipeline for high‐throughput Raman spectroscopy is introduced, based on a 1D convolutional autoencoder trained with a Noise2Noise strategy. Using only repeated short‐exposure acquisitions, the method suppresses stochastic noise without reference spectra, enabling reliable spectral reconstruction while preserving
