A cross-sectional pilot study of birth mode and vaginal microbiota in reproductive-age women.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
Recent studies suggest that birth mode (Cesarean section [C-section] or vaginal delivery) is an important event in the initial colonization of the human microbiome and may be associated with long-term health outcomes.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Measurement of $$WW/WZ \rightarrow \ell \nu q q^{\prime }$$ W W / W Z → ℓ ν q q ′ production with the hadronically decaying boson reconstructed as one or two jets in pp collisions at $$\sqrt{s} =8~\text {TeV}$$ s = 8 TeV with ATLAS, and constraints on anomalous gauge couplings

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2017
This paper presents a study of the production of WW or WZ boson pairs, with one W boson decaying to $$e\nu $$ e ν or $$\mu \nu $$ μ ν and one W or Z boson decaying hadronically.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Measurement of t-channel single-top-quark production in pp collisions at s=5.02 TeV with the ATLAS detector

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
The observation of the electroweak production of single-top-quarks is made using 255 pb−1 of proton-proton collision data recorded at s=5.02 TeV with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. An event selection is used to identify single-top-quark

A direct dark matter search in XMASS-I

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2019
A search for dark matter using an underground single-phase liquid xenon detector was conducted at the Kamioka Observatory in Japan, particularly for Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs).

Measurement of differential cross sections and charge ratios for t-channel single top quark production in proton–proton collisions at $$\sqrt{s}=13$$ s=13 $$\,\text {Te}\text {V}$$ Te

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2020
A measurement is presented of differential cross sections for t-channel single top quark and antiquark production in proton–proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13$$\,\text {Te}\text {V}$$ Te by the CMS experiment at the LHC.

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...
