Bernoulli Polynomials Method for Solving Integral Equations with Singular Kernel

open access: yesمجلة بغداد للعلوم
There is always an interest in an effective technique to generate a numerical solution of integral equations with singular or weakly singular kernels more precisely because numerical methods have limitations.

SINGULAR SOLUTIONS OF SINGULAR INTEGRAL EQUATIONS AND THEIR APPLICATIONS

open access: yesProceedings of the Estonian Academy of Sciences. Physics. Mathematics, 1999
Summary: Recently, in aerodynamics much attention has been paid to the investigation of wings with energy high-lift devices, including a device for external flow suction as a constituent part. This problem is reduced to the solution of first-kind singular integral equations on a segment or with Hölder kernel in the class of singular solutions, which ...

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Self-similar singular solution of doubly singular parabolic equation with gradient absorption term

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2006
We deal with the self-similar singular solution of doubly singular parabolic equation with a gradient absorption term for , and in . By shooting and phase plane methods, we prove that when there exists self-similar singular solution, while there is

Minimal Solution of Singular LR Fuzzy Linear Systems

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2014
In this paper, the singular LR fuzzy linear system is introduced. Such systems are divided into two parts: singular consistent LR fuzzy linear systems and singular inconsistent LR fuzzy linear systems.

Existence of solutions to singular integral equations

open access: yesComputers & Mathematics with Applications, 1999
The authors study the nonlinear integral equation \[ y(t)=h(t)+\int_0^T k(t,s)f(s,y(s)) ds, \quad t\in[0,T]. \] Under some assumptions on the kernel \(k(t,s)\) and the singular nonlinearity \(f(t,y)\) they establish the existence of at least one non-negative continuous solution of the considered problem.

The IFNγ‐CIITA‐MHC II axis modulates melanoma cell susceptibility to NK‐cell‐mediated cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Natural killer (NK) cells play a central role in anti‐melanoma immunity. However, melanoma cells adapt during co‐culture by upregulating CIITA and MHC II in response to interferon gamma (IFNγ), thereby evading NK‐cell lysis. Blocking IFNγ signaling or treatment with dimethyl fumarate/simvastatin counteracts this immune escape and maintains NK‐cell ...

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

On singular solutions in multidimensional gravity

open access: yes, 1995
It is proved that the Riemann tensor squared is divergent as $ \ra 0$ for a wide class of cosmological metrics with non-exceptional Kasner-like behaviour of scale factors as $ \ra 0$, where $ $ is synchronous time. Using this result it is shown that any non-trivial generalization of the spherically-symmetric Tangherlini solution to the case of $n ...

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.
