The dipeptidyl peptidase IV inhibitors vildagliptin and K-579 inhibit a phospholipase C: a case of promiscuous scaffolds in proteins. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The long term side effects of any newly introduced drug is a subject of intense research, and often raging controversies. One such example is the dipeptidyl peptidase-IV (DPP4) inhibitor used for treating type 2 diabetes, which is inconclusively ...

Molecular cloning and biochemical characterization of Xaa-Pro dipeptidyl-peptidase from Streptococcus mutans and its inhibition by anti-human DPP IV drugs

open access: yes, 2016
Streptococcus mutans harbours an intracellular, human DPP IV-analogous enzyme Xaa-Pro dipeptidyl-peptidase (EC 3.4.14.11). According to previous reports, an extracellular isozyme in S. gordonii and S. suis has been associated with virulence.

Apteranthes tuberculata's Antidiabetic Potential: Exploring Phytochemicals, Screening Antioxidant Activity, and Validating DPP‐4 Inhibition Using In Vitro and In Silico Approaches

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 7, July 2025.
Metabolomics revealed 24 major compounds, mainly glycosides, flavonoids, and triterpenes. Antidiabetic compounds Kaempferol‐7‐O‐rutinoside and Kaempferol‐3‐O‐rutinoside‐7‐O‐glucoside show maximum inhibiting activity for DPP4 protein (in vitro and in silico). Out of 24 compounds, 5 demonstrate no PAINS and break alerts.

Development of Photo‐Biocatalytic Redox System for Asymmetric Synthesis of Optically Active Amines Using Blue Light and Transaminases. A Case Study Toward Mavacamten

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 367, Issue 12, June 26, 2025.
Abstract α‐Chiral amines are versatile building blocks for the asymmetric synthesis of optically pure high‐added‐value chemicals, including pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and natural products. Herein, we report a one‐pot, two‐step sequential deracemization of racemic sec‐alcohols to optically enriched primary amines throught a photo‐biocatalytic ...

Chiral separation of sitagliptin phosphate enantiomer by HPLC using amylose based chiral stationary phase

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy Research, 2013
Abstract Background Although a number of methods are available for evaluating sitagliptin phosphate (SGP), a common method for separation if its potential enantiomer and its possible impurities with good efficiency remains unavailable. With the objective of developing a method for rapid separation with shorter runtimes, a simple, precise, accurate ...
